Hamilton, as a freshman, is the most talented player UCONN has ever had. While he might not be the most polished or poised 1st year player the Huskies have had, his scoring ability is off the charts. If we are fortunate to have him come back and he improves naturally he will be an easy lottery pick the following year, possibly a top 5 if he works hard. The guy can flat out score!

Well that is some high praise, I'm going to have to think about that for a second.

The 2 things I love about Hamilton's game right now, especially for a freshman, are a rare combination.
One is his rebounding for a 6-7 swingman and two his vision and creativeness in the halfcourt offense.
IF he slows down and plays quick but not in a hurry he's alot more effective. His end to end out of control
forays need to stop or be cleaned up. He doesn't see the court as well in full gallop or have an understanding
when he's forcing things on 1 against 3's and when to pull up yet, but that comes with experience.

He's still is a year or two away from being a NBA level player but he does have lottery potential and alot of tools that
translate to winning. His 10 pts a game average needs to go up alot to be considered as a 1st rounder but that
can come with him squaring up his shooting.... both on the foul line and from outside which both need some
work. But his overall BB IQ as a freshman I would put well ahead of another Uconn swingman and lottery pick
Rudy Gay. I would say his game right now is similar to Rip Hamilton ( ave.16 ppg as a FR) who stayed 3 years
and played PG after Ricky Moore got suspended. Daniel ( a much better rebounder) has the best vision on
the team and he could play the point( like Rip) if he had to.

I also think Danny plays like UConn's other Hamilton, Rip. Danny needs to become a better 3 point shooter. Once his 3 point shot is honored, his driving lanes will open such that he will not turn the ball over as much. I also think he could get a bit stronger. I really like his passing ability a lot. He is the only guy on the team who facilitates offense for others consistently.

I like that you refer to him as Danny, Khalid.

D-Ham, or Danny, or maybe even D-Hammy is the lone bright spot for our team this year as far as I'm concerned. He is better than we could have expected and a lot of his flaws are all minimal and fixable in comparison to his strengths.

His vision and passing are a welcomed added bonus as Borges alluded to in his post game article about him being mislabeled as a selfish player in HS. It is rare to see a freshman PG have the vision and passing ability that he has shown, let alone a wing player.

He is a stat stuffing, max effort guy and will only get better - the sky is the limit with his skill set. He shows our big men that rebounding is all about effort and who wants it most. He is out of position and yet he is by far and away our best rebounder (it's not even close).

His jumper can stand to get more consistent and as Khalid pointed out, teams will start to catch on to his driving and dishing and make him shoot it more until he proves he can consistently knock it down.

I am excited to see what him and Adams can do for us next season, but until then I am enjoying watching the Danny show and I'm glad to see that KO finally realized he can be that stretch 4 that we missed so much

Draft net has him going #5 in '16. I can see it. If Adams is legit right away, and purvis turns the corner, we're a contender again next year behind Ham.

Hamilton is shooting 72% from the line since the 1/13 Tulsa game...that is certainly improvement...you wanna talk about bad FT shooting then look no furtherthan Purvis but at least Hamilton has progressed while Purvis is a lost cause

Hamilton is shooting 61% FTs on the season while Purvis has sunk to a Drummond-like 46%. Sad- I actually never heard of a guard shooting under 50% on FTs, only big men like Shaq and Drummond and Wilt, guys with huge hands and no real form. It makes me wonder exactly what Purvis was shooting in high school when he made McDonald's All American? He shot 51% as a frosh at NC State. You have to look at these things if you recruit these guys. Purvis really should not start and UConn has to recruit over him and use him as a defensive specialist off the bench. Too many bench guys on this team.

Hamilton and B.J. Tyson for my Pirates are the best two freshman I have seen in the conference this year.

I don't know if the conference has a 6th man award, if they do, Tyson will win that hands down. The rookie for UCF has a higher points per game, but he is not on the same page as these two.

Your guy was pretty impressive the other night. If he wanted to drive he did, at least when Amida was out. He and Dham should be at the top of the list of frosh of the year. I am biased and would go with our guy, though the numbers are similar and would get it if they picked your guy.
