From this story in the OWH, it appears Hames will play a lot of DS next year, paving the way for Kennedi Orr to be the primary setter. After that, Hames as a grad assistant. I doubt that Cook would run a 6-2, though it's possible.

Fascinating. More great defense from the back row with Akana, Hames, Rodriguez and Knuckles back there, with Kubick play all six rotations.

Orr was a great prep player. Looking forward to what she can do with Huskers. The defense is stout

She gets another year of schooling paid for. She can continue to cash in on NIL. Then she can start her coaching career and probably still make NIL money.

Sounds like a win/win situation for the program and for her.

God I get a hard on for team first mentality. Cook is highly undervalued, wish he could’ve got the ship this year.

My only concern with this is will Orr be always looking over her shoulder, thinking Cook will be pulling her for the popular veteran after a rough performance. Orr needs the grace and time to grow into the role. I'm sure they will all do their best to make it work.

I guess this past season says to me that that won’t happen… How our freshmen struggled at times this year, but Cook stuck with them when he had Lexi Sun on the bench…

you know, having an all american behind you can also push you to work harder. Just like it did for our outside hitters this year.

100%. John Cook is the king of taking his licks to figure things out and then going and letting it work when it counts. I really thought we were going to beat Wisconsin and we should have and a lot of that had to do with the lumps Cook was willing to take early or in season just to be able to have his plan works when it's time to compete for the ship.
