all three states have “State” universities—South Carolina State, Alabama State, and Indiana State.
In those cases, we can agree that not all "State" universities are created equal even if their names might suggest otherwise. None of those are considered "flagship" level or as a peer of the two flagship publics in their respective states. The first two are historically black colleges with very small enrollments while ISU is also much smaller than either Purdue or Indiana.

SHU has another good team. I certainly would not go into a game with them overconfident. I think it is good rivalry game that should be maintained but if we don't play again next year, then the following year is a critical juncture for keeping it alive. That would likely require us to go to the Rock.

Anybody can beat anybody on a given night. On a neutral floor we win 8 out of ten times this season. Maybe 9 out of ten.

I'll piggy back to throw out an idea I had recently.

We should have an annual 4 team NJ classic. RU, SHU, Princeton, and whoever, say Monmouth.

Round robin, award only given if a team wins all 3.
Not sure how far the search function goes back on here but I have been saying this for years.

There is no point of playing SHU in the middle of the B1G schedule. Our schedule is already a gauntlet. That would be a big mistake and a potential landmine to schedule an in state rivalry in the middle of the season. Lose to them and it could carry over to the next game. There's really only one week where you can slide it in. Wisco is Jan 15 and Indiana is Jan 24. Every other week you have two games a week. Maybe in between the 2/4 game against Minny and the 2/10 game against Iowa you can slide it in. But that's late in the season and a chance to rest and heal up. It would be stupid to schedule them now and not take advantage of those areas where the B1G gives you a week off. Pass to next year.

The SHU "sympathizers" come out of the wood work. Funny if you ever prance over to their board you see what little respect they give to this current RU team so why go out of your way to respect them here by starting a post about how "wonderful" they are --- I smell SHu infiltrators.
You got that right - your posts stink! 😜

I never post on your worthless board. And in any event you have always been a phoney-- typical of hypocrites that hide what they think acting like they respect RU when they post here but due their their inferiority complex feel the need to attack us on their own board--it must really hurt you to deep down know RU is such a great university

Not interested in playing them.....this year or anymore. They will need us more than we need them, by far.

No need to play seton hall this year. A win does nothing for us. Furthermore I don’t like OOC games in middle of conference schedule.
If Seton Hall is fortunate to make the dance, I have a feeling committee will match us up in a possible round 1 or round 2 scenario.

Because you were banned years ago. And this is another one of your typical inciteful posts. :flush:

as you attested to, I'm " inciteful "and confirms my opinion that you are an a$$ and as I said, a phoney ---always was and will be --go crawl under your hole and post your usual anti RU crap on that board--honesty is not one of your qualities

The big East is decent but Georgetown, St. John's, Depaul and Butler are all rated beyond # 80 in the country as of today. SHU should go 8-0 against those teams. The league overall is no where near the BIG 10.

I think SHU is really improving each game. It's hard to say who is the better team this year.

Perhaps we will face off in the NCAA Eastern Regional?

I could also be argued that RU will only get better as the season goes on. Better and healthier (knock on wood). I think our current ranking is accurate and we haven't even fired on all cylinders yet.
