Not at all. Just remember not to cry foul when someone else does something that doesn't align with your views. That's the real issue for me, I don't care what social message cold play or Beyoncé want to project during their performance. However, when someone with differing views does something Twitter goes crazy and demands he be fired and reprimanded. You guys can't want freedom of expression and free speech simply when it fits your narrative.

And this, RIGHT HERE, is the difference between left and right in a nutshell: you guys get angry when someone promotes a vision of INCLUSION while those on the left get upset when someone promotes a vision of exclusion and demonization.

Was it harmful to anyone? If the answer is "no", and it is, then it was in fact innocuous.

I'll bet two groups of people noticed: gays and angry social conservatives looking for something to complain about. The message was meant for the former and presented no harm whatsoever to the latter. Everyone else didn't notice or didn't care.

Yeah, because everyone has nothing better to do on Super Bowl Sunday than stare at the screen and analyze every last detail of the halftime show. read: not everyone is as bored and angry as you are.

Actually it's the exact opposite. For you, inclusion is defined by agreeing with your views and principles. Anything outside of that is considered homophobic or racist. It's a football game.,you either watch or you don't. Who you shag should have little importance as it has nothing to do with football. I get the PC stuff with the oscars or golden globes because it's about art. This isn't..it's football. Watch the game and laugh at the commercials. If the NFL invited a country singer like Justin Moore and he sang about guns and the stadium held up images of guns, rifles, and the constitution the left would lose their marbles.

Thought GaGa did great, was underwhelmed by Coldplay (not one of my faves), Beyonce didn't do much for me and would rather see Bruno on his own (great performer). Uptown Funk is such a great song and thought they did well with it.

In honor of @AreYouNUTS , maybe we'll see an all-EDM halftime show sometime soon. Would love to see bands like Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, REM, Arcade Fire or the White Stripes (or even just Jack White) play and of the modern pop acts, I'd be happy to see Taylor Swft, Adele, Kanye and a few others. And I'm not a fan of trotting out aging retreads, although the one exception I'd make would be Neil Young, but I doubt he'd agree to it.

I wish it was Bruce, had floor tickets to the show at the prudential center the other day. 66 years old and the guy doesnt miss a step. It was amazing. Also thought the show was strange and all over the place. Bruno Marz was fun and Coldplay actually sounded good despite me not being a fan

Coldplay wasn't pushing a gay agenda...they are big into technicolor...albums revolve around it. Hell, they even have songs called Life in Technicolor and Life in Technicolor II.
I'm sorry, and even though @RU4Real ragged on me on FB for it, Coldplay is one of the greatest bands of our generation. They are global (look at their following in SA and Europe...not to mention, they are HUGE here as well)...and that's what the NFL is trying to do.
The "get off my lawn" crowd is really showing itself right now.

Just looked over the history of SB halftime performances - some random thoughts:

1990 - Pete Fountain and his Half-Fast Walking Club in New Orleans

I can't believe it's been 26 years since this show - one of the shows that sticks in my mind, as it was representative of the city in which the Super Bowl was being held.

1993 - Michael Jackson

I think this set the standard for all Super Bowl shows, and I don't think any show has topped this.

1992 & 1999 - Gloria Estefan

She was huge in the 90's, but what happened to her?

2001 - Aerosmith, N'Sync, Britney Spears, Mary J Blige and Nelly

I thought that this was a good format, a long time, well established act with a selection of new or currently popular acts. The amazing thing is that Aerosmith is still relevant, while the other four are not.

2004 - Nipplegate with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake

I think the NFL got spooked with the backlash from this, leading them to stick with tried and true acts for the next few years.

2005 - Paul McCartney
2006 - The Rolling Stones
2008 - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

Coldplay loves rainbows and colors as somebody else said, so that wasn't a statement, per se, as far as I can tell.

I also don't know too many pro-choice folks who were upset at the Doritos ad - I thought it was hilarious.

And if people who don't know a little history get upset about references to the Black Panthers being made in a game featuring mostly black male athletes, I'd suggest they read up on the history of the BPP. When formed, we were in the throes of the Civil Rights movement, featuring plenty of often organized oppression and violence against blacks - the BPP at the time stood up for their people. While they have gone too far at times, to not understand why they were formed is simply ignorant. And they're largely irrelevant now, given how much times have changed for the better for the most part (although the "racism is dead" crowd still have their heads in the ground).

Guns are not people. And it is people who are against two adults engaging in a consensual legal relationships who are opposed to freedom and especially the Constitution. The SCOTUS spoke and your side lost, that you invoke the Constitution on this issue, or Obamacare, or most other issues, goes to show a fundamental total lack of knowledge of what the Constitution provides for (hint hint, the SCOTUS decides what laws are Constitutional, not you, not Canadian senators, not Texas governors, not state elections...could go on here)

And not sure how anyone could possibly be offended by the colors or berets unless they wanted to be. This is what your side has come to. Once upon a time conservatives were actually about small government, not about extrajudicial killings or telling people how to conduct themselves in the bedroom.
