i dunno why everyone is complaining about the game.

these two teams have better defenses. it wasnt going to be like college football.

i guess the fantasy football generation only likes high scoring games.

the highlight were the clips they showed of real musical artists performing like the boss, the stones, sir paul, etc....This halftime was awful....Bruno and Beyonce had their time once before. Bring on Pearl Jam a real rock band not Coldplay.

I don't think many here are complaining about the game, it was a great defensive performance against two teams that were Offensively challenged. But, still a very good effort.
It's the other things that we have grown to appreciate with the SuperBowl.

Once again this board proves how absolutely out of touch with realty it is. This is truly an alternative universe beclouded by a miasma of negativity.

we saw them tonight, besides the singer they were lost out there..so lame. no energy.
No energy? Chris whatever his name is, the douchebag who married that bigger douchebag and named his kid Apple, was a ball of energy on stage. Now, if you can't tell, I hate Coldplay, but as I watched (didn't listen) to their show, I remarked to our guests, "wow, Coldplay looks like they are having a blast and tearing it up." But the sound was off, because I hate Coldplay. I liked their first single Yellow, but they lost me with Clocks, and I never came back and then he married that dreck and named his kid Apple. Just my stream of consciousness thoughts on Coldplay.

Lady Gaga killed it. Best rendition I've ever heard. Whitney included.

In Coldplays defense, they were actually playing and singing. The first I have seen in a SB.

Yes Pearl Jam would be a better choice than Coldplay.

The unfortunate reality is we have entered an era where all the megastars are old, dead or retiring or have played this already...Michael, Tina, Whitney, Madonna, Prince, Stones, Who, Bruce, U2, Diana, Bowie, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Zeppelin, McCartney, Elton, etc

We are left with current pop acts which have some current appeal and that's all they have to pull from. Reaching to Beyoncé and Bruno Mars even though they recently played to help out Coldplay who aren't really isn't that big on the pop scene says it al. Expect more acts like GaGa, Beiber, Adele, Swift, Rhianna to dominate in the next few years. Hip hop has basically killed rock somehow so there wont be many rock acts going forward

Lady Gaga impressed me with her voice. She bombed bc she went crazy in the last 45 seconds. I'm a traditionalist and she crapped the bed.
Halftime show was worst ever. Although it's harder to perform when it's still daylight.
I don't like cold play but they held there own.
Mars is a solid entertainer.
Beyoncé is a greatest of all time performer but she looked thick and out of shape.
As a whole it was underwhelming
That can't be the best money can buy....

I didn't watch halftime because I have no interest since 15 years ago. I just know the Rutgers way.[winking]
I've never once watched a Super Bowl for the halftime so I really couldn't care less about the show. But some of these cats apparently do.

most of the people at my SB party thought halftime was awful. Bruno Mars' dancing was pretty much its only redeeming quality.

Some Rock Suggestions:
Metallica-they would have been perfect for a Bay Area Super Bowl (they played Candlestick last night). Yeah, they are not super popular, but they have anthems that are used by many teams--For Whom the Bell Tolls, Enter Sandman, and others.

Foo Fighters-not a favorite of mine but popular.

Red Hot Chili Peppers-always a good time.

Muse- have not seen them but widely regarded as a great live band.

RHC played 2 years ago and were not great.

These bands aren't playing live. Coldplay was the first that I can remember who were actually playing.

By the way, a lot of folks know Bruce and the ESB is out on tour right now. He's 66, and still doing a high energy 3.5 hour show without a break. Puts all these young poseurs to shame. Here is a clip from Boston last week.

Beyonce looked thick and out of shape? I think most of us would trade places with her to be what's considered out of shape by her standards.[winking] I can't look at food without putting on 10 lbs.[roll]

I will take whitney's rendition of the anthem over gaga's. I like Coldplay is I thought they were fine but I think trying to coordinate three acts in such a short period of time is difficult. I thought Bruno Mars was much better than the RHC a couple of years at and the contrast between the two was too extreme.

I give this whole super bowl production, including the game, a rating of 3.5 out of 10.

I love Coldplay but they were the red headed step child during the halftime show. Beyoncé and Bruno Mars delivered and Lady Gaga blew me away with the national anthem.

Ha! I'm not a huge Coldplay fan but thought they blew away Beyonce (who almost fell flat on her ***, but nice catch!) and Mars. Great job by Gaga and really liked the "BELIEVE IN LOVE" stadium flashcard to end the halftime show.

BTW - how much did Bruno Mars have to pay to already do his 2nd SB halftime? Or did Beyonce pull a string or two for him? WTF???

Great part of having the game recorded is you skip the half time is seconds. I am happy to say I can not comment because I did not see or hear a thing related to halftime the dog and pony show.[cheers][cheers]

Whitney didn't sing live she synced.
