I never played division 1 football
do you have to wait till the half to adjust to what another team is doing in the first half, or first quarter or first series?

and what if they do something different in the 3rd or 4th quarter, do you have to wait till the game is over to adjust?

No, good coordinators can adjust more frequently. I think this staff still suffers from the attitude of "The B1G will have to adjust to us" and that came from their wonder season at UCF where their talent won out.

I believe they hold onto their game plan longer due to their stubborn natures.

Maybe that's just the announcing team's code teloing the apprentices to bring them a Runza instead of a Val's slice at halftime.

It is pretty common to make changes during a game but the big ones at half so the other team has to adapt on the fly. Example: Nebraska knew Michigan was playing man to man the first half to put more in the box. The second half they used that to run players off and out of plays or reverse them. It worked. That's why many teams zone us, you don't get as caught up in the eye candy.

NU has been lousy getting out of the blocks in the first half of games.

For example, against NW, NU scored 35 in the first half.

For the season, NU has scored 66 points in the first half against Power 5.

Subtract that NW 35 from the total 66 = 31 Points in 5 games against Power 5.

31 points in 5 games is an average of 6 points at halftime, if you deduct the NW fiasco.

NU has been playing from behind for almost 4 years.

They should shitcan their game plan and just wing it in the 1st half. After they find out their game plan is garbage in the first half, they actually score some points.

Margot, I think you're right, they can't even get out of their own way.
