Are you seriously blaming all the games we lost on him? That's some unbelievable **** there and shows you are not objective about Hagans at all.

We've got to ride with him or lose the first weekend.
I said he was one of the main reasons, not the only reason. Let me fill you in. When the guy who always has the ball in his hands turns it over 5 times and shoots 2-10 from the field or has 6 turnovers in 20 mins, that’s not playing winning basketball. Quit running away from the truth.

Don’t give me that about “if he doesn’t play we’re gonna lose.” We’ve lost 6 games and the only acceptable loss we’ve had was at Auburn.

Like Cal says, “you are what your stats say you are.”

Your comment Hagan's was far from a lock down defender. I gave you an example of where he was a lock down defender. Sorry if that hurts your agenda.
Evidently you didn’t watch many UK games this past year. None of our guards could stop other guards from getting to the rim. None of them are lock down defenders. Sorry if that hurts your agenda.

Lol when it comes to having 3 perimeter defenders we have maybe the best set of 3. Our defense is designed to contest 3's (we do this very well) and funnel guys to the rim and let our shot blockers alter shots. This is by design. Have we had games where our guards didn't defend great? Of course but lets not act like other guards are running circles around our guys on defense

just spreading the message, it was fake money, since majority don't know this, and even our own moderator closed my thread and stopped it from being shared as he would apparently rather have the 15 page thread of nonsense and assumptions continue on

You don’t know for a fact it was fake money. Nobody knows whether it was real or fake except Hagans.

At least it's not reached Jarrod Vanderbilt levels.
Let him miss Friday and it will surpass that real quick lol. If Cal says again that he still hasn’t talked to him or doesn’t know what his status is I think there’s reason to worry.

I don't know that he is a "lockdown" defender as much as a skilled gambler. The problem is that he also gambles on offense (making passes that aren't there and leading to turnovers). If he could tame the latter, our team would take a huge step. If he does not, it will be dicey for us from 2nd round on. All that said, I like him. I think he loves his team and he plays hard. It appears he just learning to deal with the huge responsibilities that are on him (i.e. leading a top team, auditioning for draft spots, etc.). It is a lot I am sure.

I have a question for those in this thread who are stressed out about Hagans or who won't just accept Calipari's comments at face value...

What do YOU think is happening? And why haven't we heard "he's back and ready to go"?

Here's my thought. Calipari respects his players' privacy and intends to keep the confidence of those players, so he's not giving any specifics here, and he won't. If Hagans wasn't returning to the team, we would know it. Calipari would have no reason to not tell us this.

But if you read the clues we've been given, everything will be fine. He has said we need Hagans for the postseason. He has said he doesn't know whether or not he will start. He hasn't even implied this was a disciplinary issue, even if we think it was. We've also seen Hagans' reactions to the Florida game. This doesn't look like the reaction of a kid who isn't playing anymore this season.

Now, for those dying to stir the pot, go ahead. You may have another 48 hours to bait and flame on this topic.
Good post. I agree. Many on here just want to be relevant, so they post meaningless comments on every thread.

A great overall write-up of Hagans..

Just being honst - I hate having smoke blown up my rear . If Cal doesnt want the fans to know about it he doesnt have to say anything . Period. Or state " I'm not discussing it , its an internal thing" and no one would question it . But when you say you havent spoke to a suspended star player in a few days it just sounds far out.

I agree nothing wrong with being blunt and saying he will not discuss in more detail. I guess Cal had "his people" talk to "Hagan's people" LOL.

I don't know if your first sentence is trying to be a slight/jab at Hagans. I think he's a better defender most here I guess. I think thats an easy case to make

I think a lot of the time he makes a great play on D then pushes it with the ball even tho its not really quite there timing wise because he's so ahead of the play. He should do better evaluating at these times whether its time to push it or slow it down and let the team realize he has taken possession and catch up

No jab. I like him as I stated. Again, his value on defense is that he is often really good at anticipating passes and snagging them. I think that is a different skill than staying in front of a player and sticking with him at all times which is what I think of when I think of lockdown. Overall, he is very effective on the defensive end.

That would be yours. Maybe not. Based on your posts you probably never picked up a basketball

naw, KYFAN is the LazyBoy Athlete of the century. Telepathic too. He knows what a player and coach is thinking before they think it. Been that way for years. Just ask him.
