Had Ginn not chosen to attend.

Have not seen this discussed, but after tonight is it safe to say we could replace his 8 wins with 8 losses. Would you consider him the difference in a successful season and Lemonis having a lot more pressure going into year 2?

Have we already lost tonight? What do you mean after tonight?

Some of you guys are so dramatic.

It's safe to say that our day 2 starter may not have gotten 8 wins, 8 losses is not a given either.

I didn’t mean to come off dramatic, I still feel very confident we will win this game. Just curious what the thoughts were on how important Ginn has been to this season. Maybe I worded very poorly.

I get what you are saying, but it’s even deeper than that. Your midweek pitchers and Sunday pitchers are vastly weaker because of it. He impacts more than just the games he has pitched in and won. He was won more than 8 games for us.

Sorry, I was a bit of a jerk. I get your point. Certainly JT takes this team from great to elite with a real chance at a Natty. Don't see it as any referendum on Lemonis, who I think is a keeper.

I didn’t take it as being a jerk, like I said I poorly worded the discussion I was looking for. And as for myself I too think Lemonis has done a superb job with what he has(looking at you JoMo). I just can’t help but think that had Ginn not chosen to gonthe college route the we have at a minimum four more losses and a very unfair, but different opinion of Lemonis.

Well crap you can play what if with half our roster. What if Mangum had gone to Alabama like he originally planned? What if Small never recovered from his TJ surgery? What if Tanner Allen had stayed committed to LSU?

As the regionals approach pitching becomes paramount. Just like in football where defense wins championships baseball's version is pitching wins championships. I always think back to our run in the 1985 CWS when Gene Morgan was beating Texas in the championship game 5-2 when a batter hits a direct shot to his ankle. After that it was like watching Keegan James in that first inning last night. That accident resulted in our getting behind in the game before we replaced him. Then to make it worse Miami hits a walk off home run in the 9th inning to eliminate us. Pitching cost us those two games. The offense had done everything right in both games. I'm glad our pitcher are "battle tested" in the SEC because they will have to be razor sharp heading into the playoffs.
