I’m not asking them. I’m saying that all schools in the same district should be mandated to play one another. If a team is in a tough district then oh well. Get better. Those district teams you keeping asking Highland Springs to play, have requested to not play them anymore
Generally I would agree with you on that stance. That said, some schools like those in the city will be at a disadvantage. Where would Armstrong and Thomas Jefferson be if not allowed to schedule teams outside their district? I would love to see a school like Richmond (formerly George Wythe) be allowed to schedule outside of their district but the Dominion won't allow it.I’m not asking them. I’m a big fan of these out of state matchups and I’ve always respected the Springers for these games. HOWEVER, if I’m scheduling an out of state team, it’s dang sure not going to be Greensboro Smith. They haven’t been close to good in a long time. I was scratching my head on how HS even had in any interest in playing them. NC probably has 5x the number of good teams as VA (before I’m jumped, NC is also larger than VA with 3 million more people) so hopefully HS can find another opponent from NC.Looks like Ben Smith dropped them and then Friendship Collegiate dropped them.
Stop scheduling these out of state schools. They aren’t even close to playing a full district schedule. Play one of them.
At least then they’d have a better chance of a team not dropping out because they’re in a classification with little to no issues in terms of participation.
And I just looked. The only team with an open week for either of the two weeks mentioned that has less than ten games scheduled per the initial VHSL Master Schedule is Amelia.
Might be too late in the game at this point. Not sure what Gonzaga is doing. The news channel down here in Chesapeake says they play @Smith but I don’t see them on Smith’s schedule.I’m a big fan of these out of state matchups and I’ve always respected the Springers for these games.
