WTF was Pope thinking with this roster construction?? Did he get carried away or cocky or lose sight of his style of play and decide he could mold some defensive guys into offensive guys due to his luck with Butler last year? Dude needs shooters for his style, plain and simple

Johnnie Ron is mostly correct but Butler was an offensive guy in high school that turned into a defensive dude at SDSU then married it back some before injuries last year.

but yes he’s trying to mold some pieces that don’t appear to be the most pliable. I’ll go back to making pottery and drowning bourbon.

Random Randoms:
  • There are two websites that I visit regularly that are absolutely guaranteed to send my computer into a tailspin, this one and the KHSAA scoreboard.
  • Didn't have to run some usual errands at lunch so wandered into my regular store and picked up a bottle of Redbreast 12 year and a bottle of Knappogue Castle 12 on a whim. I love bourbon but need to branch out a bit.
  • I'm all for a good bargain but this same store offers rewards points, which accumulate and ultimately result in cash discounts after you've accrued a certain amount. I have zero interest in being reminded of how often I purchase beer/spirits even if that flies in the face of frugality. Keep your five dollars bud and I'll keep lying to myself, thanks.
  • Will likely sample this whiskey some time this weekend in the ideal atmosphere of my living room which will have a fire going, the smell of our freshly installed Fraser fir filling the room, and the lights of said tree bouncing off my glass as I try to appreciate the good times in life with my wife and dogs. That be being said,
CATS Randoms:
  • Tonight I'll likely not be enjoying some absolutely atrocious basketball, while I watch the game in my near freezing basement, as the sounds of me cursing Kam Williams will keep said wife and dogs far away from me until I shuffle upstairs sometime around 11:00. Beverage most likely to be consumed will be a Shiner Bock Holiday Cheer to start and then let the game dictate where we go from there.
  • Major pet peeve for the last several years is the "L's Down" that our fans give every single time they are put on a screen. Two days a year please, let it fly. The other 363 why are we giving them the time of day. Don Draper "I don't think of you at all" and such.
  • Really hoping this game shows us something. I have nothing to add about our shooting that hasn't already been stated, but man this state is pretty depressing in the winter if the Cats don't have a pulse

I justified it as him figuring he was a good enough offensive coach that he could put athletes and defense-first guys in his system and still score. It has turned into us both sucking on offense and defense, though.

I think that it boils down to the fact that we have a bunch of 6th man type guys and that’s about all they will ever be.

I grabbed Gonzaga -3.5 when it came out. Hopefully it put the ole AW jinx on the bet we win by 1

We've taken three (3) two point shots. And one was a Moreno fade away from behind the basket at the end of the shot clock.

Actually, we can't. Chandler is trying and cannot. Lowe has tried and cannot. Can't even get downhill on handoffs. Turns out it's hard to score when you can't shoot.

Can't really do anything, actually, except take horrific midrange jumpers apparently. I think the 2020 team would beat this one on a neutral. Might be close.
