He appears to have been arrested for embezzlement by the California district while simultaneously being charged with extortion in New York. Impressive hour for the guy.
Important to keep this in mind:
The allegations Avenatti was making are still going to come to light because that's part of the extortion, just like in the Pitino/Sypher case. Pitino had to say why she was threatening him to the feds. Nike has already told the feds why Avenatti was threatening them.

Doesn't the complaint say the first act of extortion occurred March 20, 2019? If so, that's moving at the speed of light for the feds, meaning they have one or more reasons to try and keep him quiet.
