I mean, Zion’s injury may be severe.

It’s his right knee, could be fractured, ligament/meniscal tear, osteochondral injury, tendon tear...maybe all the above.

I’m sure he’ll play again, but maybe not at Duke.

Not sure which is more problematic in regards to national media response:

A.) Duke lost but without it's best player (got touching boat raced)

B.) Holy **** UNC is BACK

I can't even imagine the mental gymnastics the selection committee will perform to justify keeping Duke the #1 overall seed when they end the season with several more losses, but Zion returns just in time for the NCAA Tournament to start.

My biggest question about Zion has always been his durability. His body proportions combined with his freaky athleticism just don't match. Almost 300 lbs. and a 48 inch vertical? Something's got to give. The body wasn't built to handle forces like that. And definitely not your average Nike shoe. If he's doing this at 18, imagine him at 25 as he enters his physical prime. I'd love to see it happen...and he will be a great NBA player, but physical durability will be the biggest question mark for him. As big of a physical freak as Lebron is, he had a much more slender build entering the league than Zion.

I know he’s good but I hate Barrett’s game. Meanwhile, I love Reddish’s game- probably because he seems to be on fire every time I watch Duke play.

-Tell you who was out in full force last night....people ready to scold anyone who even hinted at a joke surrounding the injury. I tweeted something about Zion being back to 100 percent for his sophomore season. Not making light of the injury itself, but of the ludicrous notion that he'd come back for another year at all. It wasn't funny, because I'm King Llama and I'm a fat, failed stand-up comedian, but anyone with any common sense would have known that I wasn't mocking the injury itself.

Nope. Suddenly here comes MISS DIE-HARD KENTUCKY FAN who I've never heard of (but follows me), scolding me for being classless and tasteless. Normally I would have just kept the tweet, but I was having a grand time watching Duke get boatraced, and the puppy was chill because I had just given her some weird hemp treat "infused with calming oil", so I was basking in a rather enjoyable evening of college basketball, and I didn't want 100 other wokescolds to come at me, bro. Tweet deleted. Not worth it.

He'll be back for the ACC-T. Book it.

-Warmed my heart to see Nevada drop one to San Diego State. Those new-money West Coast paper tigers had gotten a bit big for their britches/breeches, IMO.

-Pat Ewing and Chris Mullin both looked like they were way in over their heads when their head coaching tenures began. Mullin still looks like a deer in headlights, and has wasted a great player in Shamorie Ponds. But doggone it if Ewing might be getting the hang of it. Same Big East record, but with less talent. And with that backcourt coming back, I could see them making the tournament next year if they get any frontcourt help at all.

But that might just be me being fascinated with there being a Caucasian in the Georgetown Hoya backcourt.

-CBS Sports Network shouldn't be allowed to use that CBB bumper music until the tournament. Gets me all excited when I hear it, only to discover it's UNLV at Wyoming.

I'm going to wait and see what Jason Witten thinks- but my initial thought is that you're underestimating the power of Zion. His some weird type of bionic god-man, and my best guess is that when his super-knee heels he'll probably all of the sudden be able to fly or some ****.

This has a very "rookie of the year" feel to it when Rowegartner's tendons healed too tight and then he could automatically chuck heaters by Barry Bonds. Look for Zion to be able to dunk from 15 feet out by March 1.

Just curious - how much zone has Duke seen this year?
Roughly 45 minutes since their game with Syracuse went to overtime.

I try to keep the criticism of Duke's team to a minimum this year because of Nov. 6, and they're still the best team in the country, but Duke's 3PT% is 329th in the country (out of 351 teams) at 30.6 after last night's 8-39. If they're making jump shots like they did when they won at Virginia, tip your hat, shake their hands and go home.

But that's been the exception instead of the rule and a huge red flag going forward. It would be the worst 3PT% of any national championship team if numbers hold. Stupid 2011 f'n Connecticut currently holds the mark at 33%, but they also only took about 50 more threes for all 40 games than Duke has through 26 games.

Llama: You’ll never be woke enough or sensitive enough to appease the twitter anger mob. Never apologize to them. Never delete a tweet. Never back down. Never relent. Once you do that, they know they’ve got you and they’ll bully you at every turn. F ‘em.

Stand firm. :boxing:

So....my good buddy*, Jason Witten, earlier said - "...the NFL has gone too far left wing with the roughing the passer rule". The left wing nut job backlash has already begun.

He will probably be hitting me up to be an assistant coach soon.
*It's a joke morons.

Per Jason Witten tonight at practice:

- Giving me a hard time about UT being better but likes UK. Wanted to play at UK as a kid.
- Loves Calipari but thinks he has lost his fastball. Big believer in body language and doesn't think Cal puts off positive vibes.
- Has read all of Cal's books.
- Has been to Rupp multiple times over the years.

Got a good pro bowl story also if that's your thing.

Yeah man. He wants to be a guest on KSR before the next UT game but Mags has me blocked on here so I can't send him a PM.

- I may need reading glasses but it looked to me like LSU moved up 2 spotsn the NET this week. I see how you can get confused though.

Jake, Last warning. You know as well as I do that the cease and desist order also required you to stop pretending like we are friends in real life and in your digital life. Thanks

Nike stocks down 1.6% and they are fully investigating the whole incident.

Should we hope for a Zion lawsuit and ratface to lose his recruiting money in the aftermath???

How much should we get our hopes up that Zion declares for the draft and never plays another game for Duke, regardless of the severity of this injury?

You *know* it’s being discussed with his people.

A year ago, I would have said 25 percent chance.

But now, after the Bosa kid pulled the same move? I'm thinking 50/50.
