-Not sure Athletic has actually figured it out. They just had lots of investment money(because of the recent economy) to make a huge push for subscribers which they need in order to sell or get more investment at some point. Get a bunch of auto renew subscriptions then raise the price gradually. We shall see.

Writing is so tough that a bunch of dork fan boys with no formal journalistic education are beating mega-corporation media brains out.

-Why would AD want to go play in LA with one of the best players in history? Idiot.

-Late January Vandy 9p road game and sub zero wind chill. Winter, congrats guys!!

-Looks like BBdk met his Irish Pub best friends. :joy: It's a 100% lock that if you spend more than 30 minutes in an Irish Pub you will make best friends with a local. Every time. By far the best part of that country.

-Kindly circa 10-12 was 15/10. Believe Booker said, "she's leave your wife on Christmas morning hot." Which was 100% accurate. She's still smoke but an obvious decline is underway.

-Is Nick Richards on a WCS trajectory? Seems like it and dude could be amazing next season. Doesn't act like he's in a hurry either.

The Athletic has it figured out in that they're selling stories and not the news.
Holler when they've made money and not just inflated subscription numbers off the backs of venture capitalists. Those dudes are going to expect a return at some point. In the near future they'll have to raise price and float on their own. If they can figure it out good for them but a lot of smart people haven't and I don't see a change when you can get so much of that same info for free.

Granted I've only seen pictures and had no idea who she was yesterday.....Angela White seems hardly worthy of multiple mentions in GYERO. Add this one to the tally but she is a dime a dozen.

Kyle Tucker’s “letters from home” were cool until I drove 4 hours to see us get skull ****** by Duke.

After that they became kind of annoying.

Heading up to Cincinnati Saturday to see Jabroski's new baby. LSAT and I wanted to find a place for dinner somewhere Saturday night sans kids. Settled on Otto's in Covington, based on a few recs. Is this place legit? Looks darling!

- Got my Blanton's SFTB that my MIL picked up in the Caymans. Tried some over Xmas break and it was some of the best stuff I've ever had - wow. That said, I'm evolving more towards barrel proof stuff now.

- Speaking of booze, next time one of you kids are at Anth's --- someone please convince that gaf to bust open that Nikka Samurai bottle I gave him. He's being a super huge poosay about it. Or just say eff it and open it yourselves. You have my permission.

- Hope Bonzo's allergy situation has improved. Puppies, bruh. Choosing to miss the KU game because of a couple whack *** furballs around the house is a tough one to swallow.

- (Real) Noise cancelling headphones are worth every penny. A true game changer.

- Marikka's may soon go under because of all the money owed to their contractors still but their night sand v-ball scene is a hoot. As long as my body holds up Imma keep laying it on the line for my squad.

Should be noted that the home he was staying in has the same number of furballs it has had for the past 10 years and he's stayed there many many times and that he was staying in the 3rd floor suite where animals don't go. However, he did forget his meds and stuff, so that part was understandable. Or maybe he just got a booty call back home?

Hope he’s ok.

Shame he missed it, there were some college girls we had lined up for him.

Lebron is great, but he and his crew basically just run franchises at their whim and usually leave a path of destruction in their wake. I’m not sure if I’m AD I want to sign up for that. He’s got a much longer run in his prime than Lebron.
Yep, imagine what the Cavs could have been if Lebron didn't go there and ruin that franchise.

“In their wake”. I’m sure the Cavs and Heat will happily take the title(s) but Lebron’s crew has shown time and time again they will leverage their power to encourage damaging trades and contracts to be signed that cripple franchises after he leaves.

Great player, maybe the greatest. Doesn’t mean he is a good GM.

I always thought LeBron James's biggest "problem" was that he was so freaking good that he carried crap teams out of potential lottery situations making it more difficult for them to build organically (especially during his first run in Cleveland).

Miami basically lost LeBron, (prime) Wade and Bosh all at the same time, so that wasn't exactly a path of destruction.

If there's a nit - it's that LeBron's buddies did a crap job of influencing Cleveland to sign people like Thompson (which was mentioned), however, it's not like they passed on others to make that singing.

- If Boston can get AD without giving up Kyrie or Tatum they better go all in. LA/Magic isn’t going to give up the pieces they have in order to get AD for the same reason they refused to get fleeced for Kwahi.

- Boat which Carter did you open? Rye Batch 2 and American were great. I lost a KO last night and was not even to pissed.

I have found a guy in Europe that can ship Blantons to me for less than I can find here for. $135 for black label, $125 for gold, and $100 for green. I’ve yet to find SFTB for any reasonable amount.

- It’s truly amazing the bipolar takes on Travis Reid amongst BBN. The dude has scored 20 in a few games and had several double digit rebound games, but a lot of people still hate his game.

This team can beat you so many ways, but having 2 guys go for 18/10 in the post is one of the more enjoyable.

- Baseball needs a salary cap, and the owners better start trying anything to push that in negotiations.

Lebron could have absolutely left Cleveland (the 2nd time) in a better place without affecting his or the teams' performances while he was still with them. He has no obligation to do so, but signing Thompson to that deal, driving Kyrie out of town, signing a ton of old shooters, not signing for more than a year at a time repelling free agents, etc. were all unnecessary.

The Carter we had was the American. They had a bunch of the rye left at LB the other day.

I’m still kind of upset with Anth for spoiling my Police Academy joke. I put a lot of effort into it.

Ate lunch at Brooks favorite establishment Check's Cafe. It always amazes me how many people have a beer or two for lunch there.

* krazykats now entering the worldwide bourbon exporting/importing business, buying speculatively, and trading internationally is quite a big turn of events. Not a big drinker.

* drxman is a marketer's dream. Just put a ridiculously huge pricetag on something, market it as exclusive, and profit.

* The worst thing to happen to competitive balance in MLB is the big clubs finally waking up and realizing the value of younger, cheaper players. Ironically, the baseball world used to get their panties in a wad over competitive balance when NYY/NYM/Boston/LAD/LAA would toss out > $100 million contracts left and right, when that actually often made them LESS competitive.

Bryce Harper made $2.5 million the year he won the MVP. Now he's asking for $30 million, and his production has fallen off. Ok.

When is Cal going to realize that Elijah Craig is stealing all of Evan Williams' minutes? 1792 is the real sleeper off the bench for a low 4 star. Instant offense.

Sidenote, closed on the house today. Most debt I've ever been in and I'm grinning ear to ear.
