With this team, I am totally fine with no bench points.

The opportunities there are basically Quickly being pretty good, Nick Richards getting putbacks, and whatever the hell Montgomery is trying on offense.

This is a 7 man team and the 2 bench guys are just needed for defense and minutes. Nothing else.

We take a big step back when Hagans comes out, but IQ is a solid sub and/or second ball handler.

I really like what Richards brings.

EJ is going to be really good but I don’t feel comfortable with him in right now. He did give us some nice D.

Baker is ok but he needs to knock down 3s to be effective.

Good Lord. Nye County Nevada has to be the armpit of the country.
I have never seen one segment of Live PD shot there, where it didn’t look like they were in a third world country, or a white supremacy compound.
Every person they encounter is a complete wingnut.

Happy but I will not recall that win. A slog til the end.

The Sec tourney should be worth the price of standing shoulder to shoulder on 2nd Ave.

Matt Jones is vulnerable to all the canards of basketball so it’s not really worth listening to his analysis. It works for the average joe b-ball discussion, but such simpleton understanding is below the college basketball übermensch permeating this thread

* Actually, Jones was talking on the postgame show about how earlier in the year he thought Herro was unplayable if he wasn’t hitting shots but how now is a great defender and all around player. He said he has improved as much, if not more than Hagans.

* Great atmosphere last night. Rupp brought it.

* There may have been 6,000 football recruits and family there. They started heading down to the Schembari Recruiting Room at around the 3:00 mark and we’re still going down the steps with 1:00 to go. Really disrupted the Blue Hairs trying to beat the traffic.

* 1st half Johnson needed to wake the f up. 2nd half Johnson was woke.

* TmfH with some serious Rupp Video Board time, of course.

* Is Ravi hitting Maria? Those would be some good looking kids.

I heard per Matt Jones (@MattJonesKSR) that Herro was a huge liability if he isn't making shots.

So FALSE, douche.
This kind of stuff cracks me up. Great win and you want to come on here and blast another regular fan that happens to have a radio show. I’m sure if we broadcasted all your takes, plenty of people would think you’re a douche as well.

Someone doesn’t suck because of one blindspot or bad take. Jones knows what he’s talking about. Relax.*

(* Says the guy who about lost my mind again about EJ in the first half)

Would rather MJ drop the political aspirations and focus on getting hired at ESPN so we don't have to endure anymore Duke blowhard cawksmokers and finally have representation befitting of the largest fanbase in the sport.

I'd vote Dem for that. Bilas and Williams can diaf.

-people have blind spots...its human nature. They assume that because Herro is a lanky honky the only value he offers is shooting. It's lazy. Thankfully Cal doesn't agree and the kid has led the team in minutes in the last 2 games against ranked opponents...and was only 1 min behind Hagans vs. Auburn.

I want badly to say that mags doesn’t have the TV face to work at ESPN but they continue to employ ***** like Brian Windhorst

Herro is the son Calipari wished he had.

Sunday Shorts:

- Herro is my in-game whipping boy. Reason being that when he’s hitting we’re a totally different team. And he’s been much less efficient than I would prefer. But he’s been a lot better defender than I thought. He’s pretty well-rounded.

- Cats 5-1 against the current AP Top 25.

- Really have been impressed with Richards’ contributions. He has a long way to go but he’s a nice role player. Montgomery is just too shaky to have in big games. That said, he played pretty good D last night and battled for some boards.

- Hagans shows up every game. He’s our best, most consistent player. Johnson isn’t far behind.

- So happy Travis was able to experience Gameday and a bigtime matchup like last night.

- Washington drives me nuts but at his best, he’s our most talented player.

- As is typical for Calipari teams, we can run, we can grind, we can win fun games and ugly ones. We’re balanced and we can handle off games from a couple guys and still win.

- Now get ready for Vandy, a true trap game if I’ve ever seen one.

Looking too far ahead, I know, but by the time our game with UT rolls around on 2/16, the last time UT will have played against a ranked opponent was on 12/9 against then #1 Gonzaga. They are a good team, but haven't been tested in a long while.

Calipari has played Herro more minutes this year than anyone else and Calipari does not suffer fools.

Kid is good. Now he needs to hit some f***ing shots. Because if he does, we're going deep in March.

Rewatching the game, Lawson is such a ball player.

Yeah. Much respect to Kansas and Bill Self. They've got a somewhat limited team but the players they have are damn good and play within themselves.

Kinda reminds me of that Ohio State squad we beat when Harrelson played dodge ball. With Sullinger, Diebler, Lighty and Craft, that team was insanely good but UK just outmuscled and bullied them.

Bill Self knows how to go and get good guards and good forwards.
