-I'd fanboy for either Keith or Josh. Keith gets all the national attention because of his quirks and Hader's imitation, but Josh is my guy. #Keith #Josh
-We can all begrudgingly accept that Mack might be a national COY finalist if UL finishes strong, right? Can't see him winning the national award over Barnes and Sampson, but what a job he's done. And even more impressive is that he's doing it while keeping their only five-star on the bench. Beating a ranked team while your leading scorer goes 3-12(0-7) is a good look. I mean, I hate the guy AND his politics, but he knows what he's doing.
-Another guy who knows what he's doing....John Brannen. He's setting himself up on a jump from NKU to an AAC or Atlantic-10 job in the next couple of years.
-Whenever Kentucky plays a non-conference opponent during conference play, I look back to see their history of doing that in the 80's/90's. The Houston and Navy games always stand out because they were on Super Bowl Sunday, but we had some weird ones through the years. For some reason, Eddie Sutton played Syracuse in a home-and-home held in LATE February. Pitino took a break from SEC play to host Western for some reason. Guess it was good for the state or whatever.
-How in the world did schools like Purdue and IU allow the Big Ten to start playing Friday night games? As a college basketball I love having good games to watch instead of a random Fairfield-Quinnipiac matchup or whatever, but when your fanbase is from a basketball hotbed in general, pitting your games against local HS hoops is pretty idiotic. Obviously the BTN is the driving force, but you'd think Purdue and IU would at least have been able to stay off that schedule. Let Rutgers and Northwestern fight it out.
