* The lack of a unanimous baseball HOF selection up to this point is completely embarrassing. Rivera, like dozens before him, was absolutely worthy of the accolade. I just hate that it finally happened to a Yankee, because of course it did.

* Wait, hold on just a second......anth serviced you? Hahahaha.....because he's a homosexual!!!

* I like the HOF class, but...

Rivera = mortal lock.
Halladay = absolutely. his 10-year run is all-time great.
Martinez = given that he didn't play defense, I think his counting stats were a little low for me, but I can't argue with the selection.
Mussina = similarly, but different.....great counting stats, but not a truly elite peak. don't think he'd get my vote, but I can't argue strongly against him.

* NCAA basketball officials have created a solution and are looking for the problem. This flagrant 1, hook and hold, hands/elbows to the face, go-to-the-monitors nonsense really solves nothing.

* Had a doozy of a meeting for my local non-profit running club this week. Someone in our general membership meeting (about 150 people) asked about diversity on the board of directors -- we're currently 100% straight white 40/50-something male. Guy starts yelling and ranting in the back....

this is some bulls***! this ain't new York city, this is new orleans, we don't WANT diversity. if you want diversity, move to new York. move to California. you talk about inclusion, and everyone is getting included but me! these t-shirts you give out at races are so fruity I can barely wear them, with their pink and green colors, they're made by a bunch of fairies. this club is nothing but a bunch of sissies and f***ots, and that's why this country is going to s***! I don't give a damn, I proudly wave the confederate flag in my front yard!"

Sooo….that was fun.

* Big weekend planned. Got college buds in town for a 40th birthday celebration, including one staying with me. Heavy boozing. Saturday we have a UKAA Game Watch party and bourbon bottle raffle for the Kansas game. Check me on Sunday. I'll be spent.

* Randy Scott is basically the lead host on Sportscenter nowadays, and has been for years. How can these people at ESPN ask us to take their network seriously? He and his weird chin are awful.

* PJ Washington reminds me of Larry Johnson.

And that's the bottom line, cause Stone Cold said so! (glass breaks)

I didn't catch much of UT/Vandy, but did see the end of regulation. Shouldn't that have taken time off the clock rather than add 1.3 seconds back on? If indeed the issue was that the clock inadvertently stopped during play, I would have thought it would have been a runoff of the time they missed...

Thank goodness for those professionals in stripes running to the monitors and grabbing a stopwatch, I suppose.

The first thing I want to be done, is to get that piece of crap off of my track. Don't just get him off of the track, get him out of the running club because I've proved son, without a shadow of a doubt, you ain't got what it takes anymore! You sit there and you lace up your Brooks, and you monitor your heart rate, and it didn’t get you anywhere. Talk about your Mo Farahs, talk about Uta Pippig 3:16 ... Prefontaine 3:16 says I just lapped your ***!

HOF voting should be pretty simple.

Baseball- Were they a top 5 pitcher, infielder or outfielder for their time. DH?
Football- Were they top 5 at a certain position for their time? QB would be interesting. Brady, Peyton Manning, Brees, Ben, Eli, Rivers. Flacco . How truly elite were some of these guys? Insert Flacco. Cut that list after Brees and let other position players in.

"Hey, do you want to sponsor me for my next race, $25 a mile?"
"Sure, what charity is it going to?"
"Oh, no charity, it's for my profit...you paying it cash or check?"

Glad PTI isn't one of ^ guys.

CBB Gambol is the most fun, but far and away the most brutal. :joy: Thankfully, I wasn't a part of this one. This kinda **** happens wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too often, w/ regards to the meaningless 3 (to the actual ball game) at the end of the game to beat the #. I'll never cease to be amazed how often Vegas nails these.

James Harden is up to 263 consecutive unassisted points. [sick] What he's doing is incredible I guess, he's obviously an offensive wizard -- but man I can't stand it.

Maybe that led to this, one of the more bizarre things you'll see. Nobody else on the Rockets knows what to do anymore, I guess.

:joy: at Gordon's reaction.

Is there a for-profit running club?

There are running and event organizations that are for profit, for sure. Spartan Race is owned by a hedge fund and sponsored by Reebok. Rock N Roll is sponsored by Humana and was recently purchased by Ironman. Tough Mudder was founded by Harvard Business school grads and partners with IMG, among others.

As far as clubs are concerned, most are non profit. As an attorney you may know that a non profit has more to do with corporate structure and the mission/purpose of the organization than it does the year end accounting numbers. As such, the status allows them to be much MORE profitable. Many of the big ones are extremely profitable, in fact. My club has 5,000 members, 25+ events, annual revenue of > $600,000, and about $1.4 million in the bank. And that’s nothing compared to Atlanta Track Club, Boston Athletic Association, New York Road Runners— all are exponentially bigger.

There are also all types of for profit running clubs.

Ex: numerous bars, restaurants, breweries, etc that use a weekly run group to promote their business.

Ex: clothing brands that have ambassador programs and groups to sell merchandise (Oiselle has a nationwide team, Lulu has a very strong ambassador program, Tasc has a bi weekly run group)

Ex: smaller run groups that don’t make enough $$ to bother with the legal/regulatory hurdles of becoming a 501c3

So, yes. The answer is yes.

You guys and your liquor collections crack me up. Have at it though, you’re enjoying yourselves. If I decide I want a drink after work I just usually pick it up in the way home.

Lass cracks me up. Tried to get her to watch “You” and she protested. After the first episode “this is stupid.” Made her watch another...come home from work and she’s binged the whole season. Now it’s “her” show.

So have tried to get her to watch Sopranos before, and now experiencing the same phenomenon. It’s “her” show now...at least I get to rewatch it in peace.

Kind of excited for the new Soprano movie, prequel with them as teenagers, and played by his real life son.

My wife did the same thing on "Breaking Bad" and "Dexter" and now insists she always liked them. Could not get her to come around on " The Wire" though. She said it was stupid and just "a Law and Order for HBO", which embarrasses me and have to tell her to keep that to herself.

- Going to the game on Saturday. I haven’t been to Rupp once this year so I’m pretty excited. Should be an awesome atmosphere but then again I don’t want to get too lubed up before the game and have some stuff *** behind me tell me to sit down multiple times.

We really need to beat Kansas. Cal has done really well against UNC & UL but we need to start beating Kansas consistently after losing 3 in a row to Kansas. Can’t wait.

- Took a position at SYB in their business lending group. Financially it was a jump and I get to learn so much more how capital is extended to operating businesses and in commercial real estate deals. I have a ton of resources at my disposal. Working at the corporate offices in downtown/Butchertown area. Takes me 5 minutes to get to work.

That being said the bank has a suite at YUM tonight for the UL vs. NC State game. Going and taking a potential client. Food & booze on the house. Top 25 matchup. Not cheering for UL obviously but I’ll enjoy for a nice little Thursday.

Congrats, Richie. Glad that you've fully embraced bank whoring, as that's what it takes in that industry -- what's this make #5?

4. I honestly wasn’t looking to make a move. They got in touch me with and it was too good of an opportunity for me in terms of size of portfolio, the ability to learn more and being with a locally based bank. I want this to be it.
