I am very much over this whole convington catholic thing. It’s gotten me depressed. Feels like we’ve hit the fast forward button on humanity and civilization. Everyone f*cking sucks now except for a few of you here and I’ll leave it at that.

Speaking of the early, mid 90’s, I’ve decided that if I keep on this path of killing it, I’m gonna get an early 90’s lotus esprit. Let my sons drive it in high school. Cuban links, jawbreakers. Can you imagine

SAE is right, we are now almost 3 years removed from a new sturgill album. A new Tyler Childers would go a long way in these cold months, too.

New guy in my office boycotts Chick Fil-A, Yeti, and Dicks Sporting Goods. Only thing I boycott is Arby’s because it sucks

The CovCath story may be the perfect example of how social media and extreme political polarization are ruining America. This was a giant nothing of a situation until you add MAGA hats and start throwing around buzzwords like "white privilege" to spiral things out of control and get SJWs like Tucker firmly aboard the high horse. Then the right wing leaps to their defense, the left wing digs in and starts calling everyone under the sun a racist, and I have no clue if Putin is really secretly meddling in American affairs (the most recent season of Homeland was legitimately scary), but it would be a hell of a way to weaken and divide a nation...
Putin? There is an entire group of people in DC on both sides of the aisle whom stay and power and become rich off of this stuff. The cable companies, political talk radio, political websites...this is content and ratings!

You don't need to travel across an ocean to find who is keeping this water muddy...what else are we going to do, focus on their corrupt incompetence?

Yeah, it's no coincidence that DC has the (or among the) highest per capita incomes now days. Churn the cesspool as the ripples enrich even those on the outskirts of government.

Politics as "civil service" these days? My ace.

It's interesting to talk to people who worked in Washington in the 70's from an economic/development perspective; the money that's in this place now is just insane. It was almost considered sleepy back then.

Getting a HJ on the banana joes or whatever the hell it was called dance floor in Richmond while listening to The Thong Song was one of my best, and absolute worst, sexual experiences in college.

Holy **** people are still talking about this Covington catholic story. There is one positive about it though - it has finally proven, without a doubt, that liberals and not conservatives are to blame for all of this pettiness and fighting, and that conservatives are ultimately correct. CASE CLOSED.

Man how fun was that Auburn game, we’re finally having the season we were hoping for, and it couldn’t have been more needed. BBN was starting to lose it.

For some strange reason, seeing This made me think about the origin of bananas being 'slippery' - I assumed cartoons, but a quick google reveals otherwise:

A Danger to Society
Before the discovery of its comedic potential, the banana skin was considered a real public hazard. In the mid-19th century, a man named Carl B. Frank began importing Panamanian bananas to New York City. The fruit quickly became a popular street food throughout America, but the surge in urban migration and lack of sanitation regulation posed a major problem in cities. People often tossed their garbage into the streets, leading to a general foul stench and public waste buildup. A fresh banana peel might seem non-threatening, but a rotting banana peel was a slime-covered booby trap.

See, the internet isn't *all* bad. :)

-$300 teaser last night on UNC/KU - way out of my comfort range, but it set up perfectly w/ pk on each game. Biggest hit in a long while...been a rough season so far. Chasing never works out, so

-It's pathetic how the B12 lays down for Kansas. Texas Tech had a chance to effectively seal it last week, then proceeded to go 0-2 as the favored team. KU will win their 37th straight or whatever title. [eyeroll]

-Jones brought up a good point on Herro's thriving on the road ---> he's been playing in environments like that for a year+. Once he flipped from Wisky to UK, he went from state hero to villain...and everywhere he went was nasty.

-They also discussed UT having only been to 1 E8 (2010) and 4 Sweet 16s, in program history. That's pretty bizarre for a school that seem

-Pork Chops are underrated. Bet I don't make them more than once per year on average, and I have no reason why. Always delicious, and close to fail proof. Little 2 hour brine, cast iron sear, finished in oven. :fire:

-Tonight feels like a bit of a trap game. State is experienced and really good out front. Fully expect one (or both) of the Weatherspoon boys to go off.

-Forever my favorite meme - is the jumping Mario sound ever not funny?

Hmm, do not recall that -- Jack Fry's is known for their pork chop, so doubtful I would say such a thing. If I did though, it was only to leave a mark & upset you, which clearly it did given you remember a post from 11 years ago. :joy:
