Knew Van during days at UK. Played for Curry in the secondary and was a good player. Played in the NFL for awhile. Believe was drafted by Chicago. Had several concussions while at UK. He was getting special helmets made for him before that became a thing. Was a great guy then and assume still is.

If by mildly irritating you mean hospitalization for respiratory issues and serious cases of contact dermatitis, then yes, cocobolo is mildly irritating if you're allergic. So, unless you know for sure you're not allergic I'd be very cautious. Just a heads up is all
