The "old" UK Football vibes overwhelmed me yesterday during Pedo State's TD drive to make it 27-21. I just knew my heart was going to get broken on a 28-27 final. It's instinct, I guess. This team has defied the UK Football Indian Burial Ground Curse all year and they did it again in a game that will feature clips of program success for generations. We will look back with nostalgia 40 years from now saying to our grandchildren, "just look at that interlocking H/K. Just look at that shade of blue. It was back when we used to be something, I tell ya'."

--------- I'm not sure who said it, but anyone that puts New Year's DAY ahead of New Year's EVE is misguided imo. Maybe it's because I work in public ed, but there is no worse feeling than sitting around the house all day - fat, lazy, and spoiled off of Christmas Break - just feeling that sense of impending responsibility hovering over you like some albatross. It makes the "Sunday Scaries" seem like a brief, bad daydream. It's a 12-15 hour long "Tonight, on 60 Minutes . . . tic-tic-tic-tic-tic" sense of impeding dread and anxiety followed by tossing and turning all night until it's time to wake up and go welcome back a pack of hyenas.

Even as a high school student I couldn't fully enjoy all of the New Year's Day Bowls because I had an assignment I had put off all Break that needed to get done. Awful.

And there was always . . . always that slight 10% chance of snow flurries that you kept your fingers crossed for - hoping it would result in a dusting that would be enough to get you out one more day. "Snow Showers with a possible 1-3 inch accumulation for most of the viewing area." But it never snowed. Not on that day. As a matter of fact, the only days the forecast happened exactly like that was on the first day back from Break and the Monday after the Super Bowl. Go to bed hoping, wake up . . . nothing. Book it.

The first day back was always the one you just needed to get under your belt. Now it's nothing but dark, grey skies and basketball season for the next 2 months.

College Christmas Breaks were dope though.

This past summer I felt myself starting to drift back into smoking, after having quit for almost 10 years. The men's league **** shows kind of allowed me to fall into it. Well, in response I bought a Juul so I wouldn't start smoking again. That worked, but GD was it a mistake. I'm giving that up now, and while it's not the exact same as quitting smoking, it is pretty GD close and sucks giant balls.

There is no greater nicotine delivery device on Earth than the Juul.

Once there’s enough history and ability to study side effects, it’s going to be common knowledge that vaping is significantly worse for you. You’re freebasing nicotine, basically.
I don't know about worse than smoking cigarettes since that's pretty damn bad, but I have no doubt it won't be "AY ITS JUST WATER VAPOR NO BIG DEAL LOL PASS THE MANGO"

Regarding social media - I get a good laugh from the idiots that post about less walls and more bridges in the world. Not one of them would leave their doors unlocked at night or while away. Particularly the ones that live in or near crime infested shitholes.

Actually Altria Corp which owns Phillip Morris and kraft among others bought a 35% stake in Juul for 13 billion valuing it at 38 billion. So if vapes are in fact bad for your health there’s a significantly lower chance we’ll ever know now. It’s basically the way for big tobacco to be back in America. Very popular with teenagers apparently. Can’t imagine they’re healthy and I have a feeling popcorn lung will be a common term in 20 years.

Never in a million years imagined that teachers dreaded the first day of school as much as I did as a kid, interesting perspective to hear I guess. Good luck passing out the syllabus and asking kids how there Xmas was for two days Strokin, puppies scent.

That’s hilarious UK_Dallas

I couldn’t imagine having to remember how to teach HS-level War of 1812 or Hamlet for the 15th time or whatever. Must really weigh on you.

Also, this is GYERO, who TF did homework in high school? Learn maxing out the ACT and cruising into state school IMO.

I feel like you can relate here... I've been having "oh ****" dreams about forgetting to do swim recaps for the past two weeks.

Why don’t you just “Penske file” it: do nothing and see if anyone ever notices. This highlights the travesty of college athletics. Naji Marshall is busting his *** to pay your salary to write swimming recaps for a bunch of rich swim parents to share on FB.

I suppose I could, but then when we ask the rich parents for money to fund the non-basketball sports that we have to have per NCAA rules, they're going to balk.

I don't actually mind doing it, it takes 30 minutes tops, they just happen at weird times and it's easy to forget. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And I'm writing a Naji Marshall (or not so much because he hasn't scored yet) recap as we speak, after setting up the stat-keeping computers, media seating, photographer boxes and radio booths. I'll also edit his pictures to send to him and record his post-game press conference. So I think he'll be fine.

I've been vaping for almost a year now. After peaking at two packs a day smoking and going from that to about a can of dip a day, I'd be shocked if vape proves to be worse than either cigs or dip 20 years from now. Cigarettes have 250 carcinogens. Dip has fiberglass in it to rip your gums apart to deliver nicotine. The biggest issue that was found with vaping to this point was popcorn lung and that was a result of people using cheap liquid imported from China so probably had lead, plutonium and other cool **** to smoke in it.

Just don't vape in an airplane bathroom.

Juul is super easy to charge (magnetic usb charger), you just pop in and pop out pods so there is no mess and no having to refill, it’s very small and can be taken anywhere, flavors are solid, and the biggest thing is it’s closer to an actual rip from a cigarette than other vapes.
