- I’d say this is the last year Santa visits our house. The youngest is in 3rd grade and possibly already knows but is keeping up with the charade so he doesn’t get stiffed on presents. Shrewd.
- We carry the label of Southern Baptist but also believe that kids should be kids this time of year. The disappearance of Santa will be bittersweet.

To be fair to the parents, my 10-year old asked my wife a few weeks ago if Santa existed. She laid out a pretty good explanation as to why there is no way he could be real, plus she recognized my handwriting on a gift to her sister from “Santa”.
My wife told her the truth, and then went into some big explanation about the meaning of Christmas, and why it so important not to tell anyone else as they may still believe. My daughter agreed and went on her way.
Not 24 hours later my wife gets a text from my daughter’s best friend’s mother asking why my daughter is telling her kid that Santa doesn’t exist.

Our family will never have to deal with child handwriting sleuths as we (correctly) have the Santa gifts unwrapped, set up, and ready to play - in front of the wrapped presents.
Well of course, but I got the middle child an iPad and set the home screen to “To (my daughter), Love Santa”. Oldest daughter’s a little quicker on the uptake than I thought.
I don’t give a **** if my kids are teenagers, I will feed them the lie and they will know I’m lying and they will continue accepting presents from “Santa” just like I did.
If they do not play by this rule and make the mistake of telling me they don’t believe in Santa, then at that point they will just be out those presents.

My parents still have never told me the truth about Santa, I'm guessing they assumed I heard from kids at school...but the subject has never been brought up.

Ha! To this day if I asked my mom if Santa exists she’d just answer with an inquisitive, “well, what do you think?” Same as she did 30-something years ago. Thought it was rather weak of my wife to answer that question from my daughter truthfully.
A ten year old is bound to figure it out. At 3-4 I think we can be fine with a little Santa.
Grew up Southern Baptist (Highview). Never heard of it being a part of the religion to denounce or ignore Santa Claus.
Thought last year would be our last for Santa. Well last night our youngest was freaking out because he couldn’t fall asleep and was worried Santa wouldn’t come so I guess he’s still #allin. I think I’m going to be more upset when Santa is done than the kids will be. Being Santa rules.
This reassurance brought me a lot of Christmas joy. Merry Christmas, Wayne.

Was just saying the same thing at a family get-together last night. Our service did it in German and English last night. I've also maintained for some time that Christmas Eve has a better feel to it than Christmas day. Hard to explain.
The scene from Band of Brothers, on the field of Bastogne, when the soldiers break out singing Silent Night is one of the better clips from that series.
UPDATE - After 3 effing hours (not kidding) a winner was me, but only after mom got home and convinced him I was serious. Little ******** is the most stubborn person I have ever known. It’s actually admirable in a way.

I asked my wife to get me the Donkey Game game for Switch, because my brother, dad, and i used to play Donkey King Country a lot as kids - and we host Christmas, so it would be fun to play with them today.
She went ahead and bought Mario Party instead, so our toddlers could play as well. They had no interest, obviously. My brother and I played it for 15 minutes and then played Mario Kart for a while. So I guess I’m buying Donkey Kong for myself after I run into work tommorow morning? Like what are we even doing here? (Insert Larry David Confused vid.)

Not too far from perfect. As far as mugs go, probably so good as can be found, especially in this day and age.
Analysis:
The K is a bit narrow and upright.
The beauty of the classic (best) version of the block K that appeared on the helmets of the 1970s was how broad and bold it was.
These days the PC culture calls it "manspreading". The best block K manspread itself, with abandon, across the blank space, the subtext being "F you, you can't stop me".
8/10;
*however*, bonus point for being the proper shade of (pre-Nike) blue.
So overall, 9/10. Would definitely drink from.

Into the Spider-Verse might be the best movie of 2018. Seriously.
Rondo is absolutely destroying the Warriors. Totally in their head. And can do whatever he wants on Offense. Such a little ********!!! But it's fun to watch.
Also a Christmas Eve fan. Seems to me to be the more “informal” and “party” side of Christmas. Plus you also have Christmas the next day.
Worked the weekend and today. Some people did not have a very good Christmas, kind of sad how many fights and broken bones came through the ER. Good grief people.
Did get to do dinner tonight at the “future in-laws” and we’ve started doing a pajama party thing the last two years and it’s awesome. Just super relaxed, little brown water, and some damn good food. Usually followed by a cards against humanity type game. Come at me.
Man the walk down the plank is fast approaching...

My favorite thing about gyero is watching all of you youngins “grow up”. I’ve been around from way back in the day, and while most of my takes may suck and may not be real popular, it’s been a real pleasure to see so many of you walk the plank, enjoy your kids, lie about Santa, etc. Merry Christmas!
