Interested in reconciliation with Pitino. Eventually. Not yet. He’s still covered in glitter and hooker sweat. Some time needs to pass imo.
Yeah, probably a 30 year unforgettables reunion would be more appropriate and allow more time.

I may be a rube, but some of you all severely overrate Pitino as a human. The only way he comes back to Rupp will be on HIS terms. Not Cal’s. Not yours. And if he isn’t lauded and paraded around as the savior of BBN, he won’t come. There will be no “respectful appreciation.” It will need to be idol worship or nada.

I think you're absolutely right, but there are other mitigating factors. Pitino is a pariah in college basketball right now. If it would it would help restore some shine to his reputation, he would jump at the chance. If he can stick it to the powers that be at Louisville, he'll do it. He craves attention he's not getting anymore. Plus, the biggest thing with his ego and pretty much anyone who is his shoes, as the reality sets in he'll never coach again at a high level, he is not going to want his legacy to be whores, FBI stings, and $3000 abortions. He is going to do his best to remind people of why he was a big deal.

This simple-minded rube thinks it’s too early for Pitino. Let’s let those wounds heal a little.

I don’t get SAE, man, chomping at the bit to get Cal out of Lexington and ready to throw Pitino a parade.

Has to be something in the water in the river city.

I wasn’t aware there’s supposed to be a correlation between our feelings for former and current UK coaches.

Man I bought a lot of Coach John Pelphrey stock.

Not your fault. Heady white basketball players are always stereotyped as good potential coaches.

I’m pretty convinced there is zero correlation between needing to play at all and being a good coach, other than the fact that it’s very difficult to break into a program without having a solid connection to it. Not like I could have walked into Hal Mumme’s office when I was in college to see if I could help with the defensive play calling.

If Pitino wanted to be honored at Rupp he shouldn’t have taken the UofL job, paid players, bought hookers for his players, tried to sabotgage the hiring of UK’s coach to protect his own legacy, and flipped off UK fans AT Rupp...just to name a few things.

F*ck him. Now and always.

Pretty shrewd of Cal to change the conversation to poor ol' Rick away from his team, IMO.

What else are we going to talk about while we take pointless time off work and wait 7 days between games??? The whole Pardon the Interruption of it all is genius. LET'S SEE WHAT BIG O THINKS, IS IT TIME YET???

It gives him a little time to work on this squad without all the 'noise'. If he beats UNC, now that the ceiling has changed, he's pulled off a minor miracle with this team's first legit W (lol).

- Cam Johnson will have a field day, FWIW. No one to check him on the perimeter. Cal will want to throw Peej on Luke Maye (yikes) and Travis will be running around like a fool chasing screens. Keldon will have to give his best defensive effort yet but I don't see it.

- liked our ball movement but the zone can cure a a lot of ills. Think we'll score enough but UNC will get anything it wants, as our inability to keep anyone in front will be exposed -- again.

Ohh and more curl action, please.

You get Keldon and Herro attacking the basket and 95% of the time... something good happens. We have two very good slashing wings and bigs down low to clean up the mess. Let's use that and build around those wrinkles.

Hagans has improved 100% over the past two weeks at seeing the floor... thinking it has significantly slowed down for him. I can live with him being an offensive liability from the perimeter if he keeps that first good step and makes instinctual decisions in the paint.

Team is getting there -- quade's departure will bolster the rotation and keep the frosh PG's from looking over their shoulder, IMO. Huge for an 18 YO kid with all the exposure and expectations to fulfill.

Let's go, Cal. Get this thing sorted out. It's there.

Anyone know who this is that got hacked on Twitter? I don’t follow any current or former football players so it’s strange that Stoops follows them.

-Nice post by Geese. Ugh, where are we when he's the voice of reason around here?

-Next 2 weeks are going to fly by. Basically something going on everyday through 1st week of January.

-Missed nearly all of the game at our family Christmas.

-Firm believer market should dictate price but it kinda sucks you can't find any of the bourbons at true retail. Only a couple places still selling things at non-secondary prices. Takes the fun out of it.

-The new Grinch is awful. They PC'd the crap out of it. Not. A. Fan.

-Breakfast for dinner last night. Chorizo gravy, first time making it, mercy. Putting that one in the keep file.

-Started emailing myself notes on my recipes. GMAIL search feature is much better than my memory and hodgepodge cooking method.

The bourbon bubble will likely bust at some point but there appear to be enough lunatics playing the game right now. Not that there is ever going to be a wall full of pappy for sale at Total Wine, but prices have to scale back a bit. Hopefully when it does eventually take a backward leap, it doesnt really impact the nice little tourism niche theyve got going on.

Got around to watching the Top Chef ep at Makers Mark last night- pretty cool. I like that the woman complaining about the heat (IN THE SUMMER) got sent home.

I think the super popular names will probably stay about the same but the fact you can't buy some of the mass produced **** is wild right now. I mean Buffalo Trace was hard to find for a bit. Lol. Blanton's is going for $100 sometimes. With the amount of new distilleries being built supply should start to catch up and it'll settle in like the single malt market.

* Never read The Big Fella, but I've read her book on Mickey Mantle. For Ruth, I'm sure it's a great book, but I'm not sure what's left to uncover.

note: Mantle, drunk and philanderer as he was, would often sign baseball's for kids with hot moms, and the inscription would be something like "to johnny, best wishes. your mom has great tits and I want to f*** her." :joy:

* I posted about seeing a bottle of 23-year for sale for $5,000 on thefacebook Friday, and a certain member of that family saw it, placed a call to the offending retailer, and had the bottle taken off the shelf and re-priced within minutes. Not my intention at all, but certainly cool.

* Economic balls would call it price inelasticity. Prices continue to skyrocket, and not only does the demand stay about the same, but in many cases actually INCREASES. It is rather amusing to see so many historically casual whisky drinkers now become so obsessed with particular hard-to-find brands. For the first 20+ years of your imbibing career, you weren't overly interested in bourbon, but now that it's scarce and priced at a premium you're a diehard fan? Interesting.

* Republicans love Obamacare, imo. The hypocrisy is overwhelming.

* Turned in my company issued equipment 2 weeks ago, but I'm still technically employed until 1/11. Can't accept a job offer, and can't begin soliciting clients in my new business until then. Just sucks, and I'm getting antsy. In the meantime, if y'all need any good pron recs -- I'm your guy.

* Jemarl Baker. Shew-wee.

* Knocked out a 1:36 half marathon this weekend for a surprising PR. Not particularly rested, I'm 15 pounds off my racing weight, I'm ugly, and my dog hates me. I'll take it, though.

* The "Die Hard is a Christmas movie" isn't really funny anymore, by the way. Played out. Let's find another seasonal joke, please.

Joey is right, it's the current version of trading cards. The hunt and finding a retail price of a rare pick if fun. I have no problem admitting that.

Completely agree.

This weekend got a hot tip there was Kentucky Owl at LB. I woke up with a quickness and went straight there. Sure enough, the master distiller was there signing bottles too...but it was at secondary market prices. The experience was fun for me, and of course given my history of “pass the Owl” I felt obliged to have some...but I highly doubt it’s really worth the price.
