-Seems like Xavier Peters is a name commonly mentioned. That would be a nice pickup but I have no clue. Was hoping it was a playmaker.
-I actually re-upped my HOB sub. Meant to do when Jeff came back and just kept forgetting.
-NYC Radoms:
*First visit in a few years and G's first memorable visit. We crushed it. Rockettes, Central Park Zoo, MSG, FAO, Bryant Park, Rockefeller, Long Island to see his cousins, etc.
*Lazzara's Pizza (A), Minetta Tavern (A+), Xi'An Famous Foods (A+), La Sirena (A), Halal Guys Combo (A+)
*Sanata Con :joy: what a disaster. Only thing I can compare it to is the infield but roaming the streets of Manhattan in costumes.
*MSG is just awesome. They did great with the renovations.
*NYC this time of year is just hard to beat. Crowds are insane but it's worth it.
-Thanks to Josh Allen for keeping this winter from being a total dumpster fire.
-Willy is exactly right with his take, according to Cal and everything we'd seen, we wouldn't have these early season struggles. How did he not see this? Other years he warned of early struggles and we'll be ready for March etc. This team was ready to get **** right, hard workers, great kids, too far ahead of schedule. That's what has me so frustrated and anxious. Do I think he's broken or complacent? nah. I think he's blown a few important recruitments and with his method the margin of error is that small. Miss on Bamba, Zion, Barrett, or take Green over Young and you get this mess.
-He better get **** going or we're going to be a 5+ seed. Still plenty of tough teams on the schedule to move up but that works both ways and it won't help with them smelling blood.
-Just going to put UK basketball in the back of my mind until this storm passes. This **** is all ebs and flows. Not sure what caused this mess but no sense in making myself miserable over it.

Oh, watched the 1st episode of Top Chef: Kentucky. Seems like it's going to make the state look amazing but we've really gone too far in making chefs into celebrities. These fools take themselves WAY too serious. You cook food for a living, stop acting like you're saving cancer babies. Holler when you're slinging insurance, making car parts, selling strip malls, working on furnaces, building houses, or whatever it is that Chad is doing these days.
Now that Top Chef is finally rolling I can tell folks to be sure to watch the Restaurant Wars episode. Good chance I'll be on there looking like a deer caught in the headlights.

Haven't watched in 6-7 years, but will be checking out this one. The Kentucky Gal is mine & Killa's roommate's sister from Royal Lexington. She was a complete pothead burnout beyotch at that time -- last time I saw her was when I had to kick her out of my house for fighting with mine and another buddy's girlfriends.
Fast forward 20 years, and she's worked for some of the best chefs in the world in Chicago & NYC & is on Top Chef. Seem like a pretty common life path for chefs tbh.
We were all fooled by the Bahamas team, largely because they were playing without being micromanaged. Seemed to be pretty fluid offensively when Cal was up in the booth and far away from the court.
Best single game coaching job we've had in recent memory was when Ulis took over after Cal got sent to the locker room a few minutes into the game at South Carolina.

Counter-point - there's only one game a week.
Hopefully we can beat Utah and make some real progress in practice b/c from where I sit we're underdogs in our next 3 games after that.

Not sure where I heard it but it was mentioned that he wasn't a catch and shoot guy in high school and they had to change the way he caught and shot.
He probably should do that, but frankly, I really don't care about his dreams, and he's shooting like 11% now, so bring the ball all the way down to your ankles if you have to, whitey. Just get the job done!
