We got the generous upgrade close enough to hear Cal ranting and raving over on the sidelines.

-.

I was upgraded too, it seems.

-Check out Rabbit Hole for a new young bourbon. For their rye they use the 95/5 rye recipe, but unlike seemingly everyone else, they don't get their juice from MGP, comes from good ole KY.

Never had it, but if the architecture of their distillery is any indication (and it always is tbh) then I give two big gorilla thumbs down

[sick]
That looks like a J Alexanders or some ****.

-i know chad...i keep pimping Filson(maga) but no one will listen.

-in reality i like barbour stuff...you cant break it. That said it is Englands version of Carhartt. Prima's godfather(english jay) used to buy a bunch at his parents local hardware/garden store when he went home to visit...and give as gifts when he came back to the us. Bought cheap(without american preppy markup)...and looked like a rockstar at bdays/holidays. Oddly his neices ask for Abercrombie stuff...apparently its super expensive over there. Who knew? I did, thats who.
Tom Beckbe ftw, imo.

Carhartt, oddly enough, makes a designer/trendy fashion design in Europe. When we were in Italy last year it was everywhere- including boutique shops equipped with slim fit overalls. It was bizarre.

Cool story.

As clearly illustrated in the post you quoted, I was talking about Rabbit Hole Rye as compared to all the MGP Rye w/ the same bill: Angel's Envy, Bulleit, High West, Willett, Dickel, etc.

Speaking of Brown Forman, I haven't yet tried the OF 1870,1910, 1920, etc. lines. Which one do I start with? I'm intrigued by the 115 proof on the 1920, but I don't want to base my decision on that alone.

I always have a handle of the 100 proof Signature in my cabinet, but have been slow to jump into these new lines of theirs for some reason. Will change that this weekend.

Big fan of the 1920 and BIB.

Speaking of booze, Total Wine has some solid $40-55 range Scotches that I have seen anywhere else. Working on a Glenfarclas right now.

Got a tip today was Buffalo trace delivery day. Had to take pops to the doctor, so I couldn’t go...Never been so proud of the lass, she waited at the liquor store and scores Weller and Eagle rare this morning.

Won’t be tarnishing either of those with garnishes.

Next Wednesday is Blanton's.

Still can't believe you have trouble finding Eagle Rare. I can go in 20 liquor stores here, and it will be at all 20, fully stocked. It's $27 at Kroger right now.

Are there any pretentious fleeces I should be looking into? I buy a new round every 2-3 years, all my Colombia and North Face are pretty worn.

Jeans/Fleece is pretty much my casual winter uniform, potential clients be damned. #worship

There was Blanton’s today, but she didn’t get there early enough for that.

And some other fancy bottle, but not Pappy.

Can’t wait to wow the crowd at Thanksgiving with my new Columbia fleece vest. I’ll be looking dapper as I gnaw on dry turkey and listen to my uncle talk about how Cal should be in the stands watching Kenny Payne coach these boys.

-love hearing about Doc Boats drinking purchases. Please share the 12 packs of Cokes you score or the 2 liters of 7 Up

-One of our longtime technicians hit a $20 scratch off for 1 million dollars earlier this week. It was either 50K for 20 yrs or a $744K lump payment. He took the lump (as he should) and received a check for 520K but will likely have to pay more in taxes at filing time.

Pumped for the guy. One of our hardest workers, he has come from nothing and is doing really well. He gets that this was a nice windfall but isn’t retirement money. He did run out and by a Dodge muscle car but other than that he is going to sock it away and leave it. He said his phone hasn’t stopped ringing with people he hasn’t seen for years already hitting him up for money.

-Least interesting Cal team to date.

Last years team was less interesting imo. Herro is a decent caucasaian so that’s already more newsworthy than anything 17/18 did. I couldn’t identify our starting line up until January
Absolutely. Other than 2013 my least favorite team which kind of stinks for Shai because he was such a badass. But I never thought the build made sense from day 1.

I actually think this is the most "interesting" in a way. 2010, 12 and 15 we knew those teams were going to boat race people all season. We have plenty of pieces plus a good load of talent and experience so lets find out how we're going to play best.

Big fan of Nate’s coffee. Scored some organic Guatemalan yesterday. Such an impressive bloom and fine crema.

NFL people.

Explain Leveon Bell to me. What is the deal? I looked at his numbers and they weren’t too impressive. Why the fuss?

Reid Travis alone makes this team interesting. Complete outlier, a unicorn in the world Cal has built the past decade.

Elder statesman - will a guy 3+ years older than his teammates be able to impart his experience to them in a meaningful way?

Plus the fact that his sole mission this year is to win a national championship, and the Final Four just happens to be in his hometown.

Also, he seems brilliant. Love hearing him talk.
