My cousin’s wife is from Zimabwe and his parents host our family Thanksgiving. One year, we were able to share our family feast (~40 people) with a big part of the local Zimbabwean community (which was very cool). But, some of my hippy-dippy girl cousins (hs and college) decided to dress like pilgrims (UNRELATED to Zimbabweans showing up). They wore bonnets (from their old American Girl dolls or something).White people's Thanksgiving food is always hilarious. The one time I went to my wife's family for Thanksgiving it was like a damn National Geographic show, but instead of showing native tribes cameras and lighters for the first time, I was trying to explain why barely boiled french style green beans with no seasoning is not appropriate food to serve to human beings.
So long story short, some Zimbabweans in the Greater Cincinnati Area now believe that some family attend Thanksgiving in “Traditonal Dress.”
