IPAs are fine, but like everything else they got trendy and people ran them into the ground. I think you'll see boring-*** lagers making a comeback before they, too, are run into the ground.

Much like everything in our current materialistic **** show of a culture, IPAs came to mean that you "know about beer" so everyone hopped on the train signaling that they were sophisticated and with it. Then it was sours. It will be something else soon. Wine and bourbon are the same way.

Basically, people who know the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

Sours are absolutely disgusting.

Our best local beer bar (and Mannie Fresh hangout) Avenue Pub had a beer release situation a few weeks ago. Saturday morning, at least a hundred people were standing in line at 10am to buy a pint of some hard to find sour beer.

I ran out of pumps to give, to be honest. F those people.

Sours are great, but there are about 15 different styles that are called "sour", so some taste like wet hay and others taste like those warhead candies. I like the latter and the former are gross as hell. Different strokes

FWIW I've had around 1000 different beers, but I drink Miller Lite about 95% of the time. Unless you're out bar hopping, trying a bunch of different stuff with your buddies it's not as fun. Just need something to put out the fire of a long day at the salt mines any more tbh

You guys are over thinking this. A double shot of vodka & a little Zing Zang & some sprucing if you desire are a trusty friend when the time calls. Pretty sure nobody is pouring one this evening after work to watch the Breeder's Cup.

Life savers on Golf Trips, especially...or anywhere else where you drink all day, then have to start drinking all day again early the next morning. :)

I burnt out on IPA, but can enjoy one. I like the extreme hops. It's a hate it or love it style of beer, no question.

Sours tho [sick] ...maybe I've just had the wrong ones. Warhead candies definitely come to mind on the few I've had.

Had a Southern Tier Pumking on draft w/ Ursch a few weeks back at O'Sheas. They even threw a subtle cinnamon/sugar rim on the glass. I don't geek over beer, but I couldn't get over how delicious that sucker was.

I don’t prentend to know **** about beer. I like light beer, IPAs, hate super dark beers, and sours are just straight disgusting. The touching uppity anti-beer snob is just as nauseating as the new age hipster expert brewer. There’s a bomb-*** brewery two blocks from my house that I can walk to, and they make fantastic IPAs. I like the taste of them. Probably have a few Saturday cheering on the Cats.

Also: after 3-4 IPAs and feeling a little buzz...an ice cold Bud Light tastes like an absolute dream. Akin to the Keeneland crack beer.

I used to love IPAs. Still like them, but I'm pretty much a fine pilsner man these days. Extra points if it's of the German or Czech variety.

I know I am going to get blasted but I tried the Bud Jim Beam Lager and it was pretty good. High alcohol content as well.

IPAs differ quite a bit depending on the location of the brewer and the "palate" of the locals. I stick to Colorado* IPAs because they tend to be brighter and not as dank.

Top 3:

1) Odell Drumroll (APA)
2) New Belgium VooDoo Ranger
3) Odell Rupture

*And because I live here...

Miller Lite 98% of the time. Grab a sixer of Hoegaarden every couple months. Keep it simple.

Left Hand Brewing Good JuJu is by far my favorite but can never find that ish.

Crack beer was the Icehouse Steakfest had on tap in the mid 90's. That ish was laced.

1 20 oz. glass
crushed ice
2 shots of vodka (Svedka)
pineapple juice (Dole)
2-3 oz of Red Bull

stir, and profit.

Get him, Snarky Bitches!. Hold nothing back, and feel free to send screenshots.

-Speaking of Beam, if you like the Woodford Double Oaked (which everyone should), the Beam version is pretty comparable, especially when you consider it's half the price. Buddy bought a case of them and slipped me a few bottles, I enjoy.

-Don't think I've had OG Beam since college -- drank a bottle of it and passed out in a coat closet at a sorority formal - eventually had to go in front of the Tri Delt Standards Board to apologize, as did my lovely ***** date. Still can't even look at that bottle without getting a little nauseous.

Have a big group chat with college buddies reminiscing the week before Florida 2007. Damn.

Coming off the big LSU win, Woodson Heisman hype, Gameday coming in...best week of undergrad. Campus was absolutely electric. We lived in the house in the old six pack (RIP) and pretty much spent the entire week throwing ball in the front yard or volleyball out back. Drinks in a non-solo cup (vet move) watching the lassies from South campus roll by feeding off the campus energy all week. What a time.

Sweetwater 420, Dogfish and when traveling, always try the local IPA. I-10 here is pretty decent.

Like Catholic said, 3-4 to get the buzz and switch to something much lighter that you can sip on for the next few hours.
