Both are 99% inside. Both have small patios which are outside. The non T&S bar is open air but completely covered and has garage doors on the side so that we close if it’s really windy or rainy. More of a warehouse type deal. It used to be a shrimp sorting facility way back when. So I don’t think you were at either actually.
Plus, how would you know I wasn’t there? Did you ask my compatriots if Rogue was there because that wouldn’t get you far. Either way, you’re completely wrong that they’re outdoor, neither is. Solid effort though, Wayne.

I went to your bar - covered yes, but wide open. No garage doors down at all. So not a place I would expect to be quiet. It's a total Key West tourist spot with above average food, good drinks, solid service. And I asked for you by name - you weren't there.

It's not the altitude nor the distance that makes it a challenge. It's the conditions, year-round, plus the fact that it's not just a walk-up. Those conditions can happen in summer quite often, so imagine what the rest of the year is like there.

The comment was specifically directed to Anth because he seems to think that any mountain less tall than Kili shouldn't be very challenging.
Maybe I should have said "It's not only the altitude and distance that...."
The altitude of 14k is obviously an issue for many people. But there are plenty of 14k mountains that don't present the challenges that Rainier does.
About 15 years ago I went to Portland, OR, to visit a friend. We both did a lot of hiking back then, me in the mountains of California and him in the mountains of Oregon. But neither of us had much real mountaineering experience.
We had made plans to hike toward the top of Mt. Hood, knowing that we didn't have the technical skills to get to the very top.
When we got to the trailhead, to start out, at only 6000 feet, we were met with whiteout blizzard conditions. We didn't even get to start our hike.
That was the middle of August.
That's why I've posted what I have about Mt. Rainier.

Sorry I missed you man. That’s the other spot, very profitable. It’s not supposed to be quiet but you shouldn’t have to deal with people screaming at a tv while eating $100 in apps and entrees. It has live music most of the time. There are plenty of other bars to scream at TVs, IMO, such as Tats.

That being said as long as you're not a bum and in pretty good shape the physical part shouldn't hold you back. If you can't run 4-5 miles and can't hike all day with pack, may wanna pick it up.

The "physical part" includes dealing with the ever-changing conditions, which means you have to carry gear for winter conditions year-round.
I mean, I’ve brought them multiple times. At first they loved it. But after repeatedly upstaging the hosts it became “obnoxious.”

Whilst door knocking this afternoon, a German-American woman of some size opened her door sans pants. She smiled when I said I liked her Biergarten.
No I’ve been there. It’s much much nicer. We’re surrounded by beautiful blue water in every direction. The people I complain about are the ones that usually come in August and September, the hottest and obviously cheapest months. October through at least May is people with a lot of money. I mean, hotels are around $300-500 a night during that time. So you can’t come down unless you have money. So yes, we have a couple months of too many losers but I can handle that with 10 months of people with money to burn.
