It’s all about delaying the inevitable, SAECATFAN.

^ probably be the first motivational saying I paint on the wall of my new venture- DADGYM. I plan on opening as soon as the local axe throwing place eventually goes under and I get their place for a steal.

Just don’t lose all your toenails, have disgusting feet, awful hygiene, urinate on yourself pushing for a PR, neglect your friends and family, and generally become a self centered prick.

Keeping an eye on you, SAE.

If I can drop 20 lbs or so I will merely be exchanging mental anguish for unchecked vanity so keep an eye on that.

-The Cal Replacement List is basically non-existent at the moment, right? Lot of folks removed themselves from it over the past few seasons proving some of you haterz dead wrong I might add.

"Jinx" - My dad. Every time he'd walk into the pool hall, the jukebox would malfunction or someone would lose a quarter.
"Snook" - The owner of the pool hall.
"Tater" - shoe store owner
"Toots" - grill cook at local pharmacy
"Cork" - former football coach.
"Tiny" - former assistant football coach. 6'3 and 500lbs.
"Snuffy" - town local
"Tank" - another big guy that worked with my dad
"Peter Rabbit" - pool hall crew lined up 12 quarters on the bar and bet him a case of beer he couldn't knock them all off with his "peter." He left with a case of beer and an urban legend.

I've got my eye on Will Wade. REALLY like that kid. He's getting East Coast kids (Tremont Waters, Naz Reid) to come to a program that traditionally has not required the coach to leave his backyard to get dudes and still do well. And I think he can coach a little bit too. He got about as much as he could have out of that squad last season.

If not him, Al Skinner or Mario Cristobal work just fine.

If Duke wants a former Duke guy who could succeed Krzyzewski without massive career repercussions if he doesn't live up to expectations, Mike Brey would be 10x better than all of the guys on that list.

I prefer to live in the NOW since tomorrow is promised to no one but you do you I guess

Have always appreciated your ability to stay in the moment. It’s the one thing I respect about you- besides your house, neighborhood and Simpsons trivia prowess.

Kinda seems to me Chad went GoldDiggin'.

Not really- more of a comment on just how ****** Bahamian schools are. She didn’t even know what a noun and verb were going into her freshmen year. TS. I think they’ve improved since then but back when she was growing up, if you had any $$$ at all, you went to boarding school in Canada or the States.

Prep, Boarding School- unless you were a high ticket hockey player, your parents were too busy, self absorbed, or incapable of taking care of you so they let you be someone else's problem. TS.

Hogleg - childhood buddy. Best suited nickname ever
Dude- my grandfather’s best friend
White Eyes - Town deviant
Al Cinder (Alcindor) - my dad’s best friend calls me this
Squeaky - our team’s video/media coordinator
Pill - my dad
Little Pill - little brother
Lots of Bubbas
Ramjet - guy currently running for district judge

Small, rural towns still have some good, old-fashioned nicknames.

Crap, forgot Frog. He’s now the sheriff.

Guess Chad and I aren't working out together anytime soon. I refuse to run and only lift. I also listen to Joe Rogan while lifting. Whoops.

Running errands in Miami with the gals mom. God, I hate Miami.

Been a QUIET hurricane season up until the last couple weeks. Way to much popping up in the Atlantic right now. Went to home depot yesterday and gas cans and generators were flying out the door. Conchs have definitely taken notice. Busy bed to get through another month or so.

The advantages, investment in your kid, etc., I can understand but I just don't know how parents could be willing to part with their child starting in high school. That's what I don't get.

I also didn't know they really existed until my Lexington wife explained how much more prevalent it is there.
Raising children can really get in the way of being a socialite, hobnobbing with "the right people," etc., so I get it.

Boarding school wasn’t just a threat from my parents, it was THE threat.

They breezed right through grounding, taking away the car, calling off Christmas, etc.

The first two children in my family managed to avoid it, while the third got shipped off to military academy in Virginia.

Mom and dad weren’t playin.

Boz - my little brother played LB in football.

Squirrley - nickname my dad gave me.

Firedog - friend growing up we nicknamed that because he would suck the roach of a joint while still light.

Most of our crew in high school adopted a nickname based solely on their first or last four letters of their last name.

Lowdog - football teamate

Gilly - Miquel was his first name.

Mousey - friend from the hood.

Crock - friend with last name Crook.

Does every kid ever sent to boarding schools resent their parents well into their 30's because of it? That's what movies taught me.

^Those are *literally* the worst nicknames I have ever heard of.

I agree :100points:.

Some of the teams where very good. Lowdog started for our team that went undefeated in the regular season (Joe Curry was also on the team). We lost to Mark Higgs and Owensboro SR. We beat them in the regular season they got us when it counted, the playoffs. 1983 i think, i was a freshman.

Woodberry Forest was rather popular with the Sayre set. They were essentially outsourcing their parenting duties. Kinda hard to argue against that, if you can afford it.
