Over/under on the number of times this year I hear from a family member, "Kentucky finally has a white boy that can play - why don't they play him more? He's their best player!"????

Having a ton of difficulty deciding which Cat I wouldn't mind accidentally showing up at my house thinking it was another party. Short list is Johnson, Herro or Quandre (or whatever butcher job Dakich had for his name).

I love Keldon Johnson so much it makes me a little uncomfortable. Goddam, we FINALLY have a true 3 man who's tenacious AF & a 3 level scorer. Dude plays on level 10, worship.

As Chad alluded to, Herro is a legit wing as well - dude looks tall AF out there and w/ his elevation he's a real problem for anyone.

It's early, but obvious this team is going to be so much more enjoyable to watch. Last year was a chore at times (most), guys hunting shots, etc. I don't see any of that this season. Herro, Johnson, and Green are always looking for a way to score, as they should, but it's not a situation where you KNOW next trip up it's "their turn" or whatever...ball is always moving.

Love that we have some maturity, it's really been 3 years since we had that & what a difference it makes.

-Is it just me or is Ashton Hagans not nearly as quick/fast/athletic as I was expecting? Hoping it's just a result of him being uncomfortable & unsure of himself, and it probably is - he was a mess last night w/ his handle as well. Of course, he's supposed to be in High School right now so I'm not getting ahead of myself, just an early (and likely meaningless) observation. But he definitely seems much more Gary Payton than John Wall, which I'm perfectly fine with on this team.

- I like the way Hagans moves (/noBigBoi). I think he has unreal athleticism, actually. He will be a legit defender. He was thinking too much last night. He just played on a Wednesday.

- Travis is steady as a rock. No ups. No downs. His maturity and leadership are a key. When these youngin’s need a tough guy to have their back, I think Travis will be that dude they’ll be looking over their shoulder to make sure is there.

- Speaking of rocks, I heard Seger’s “Like a Rock” this morning in its entirety. What a great song that was unfortunately ruined by commercialism. The lyrics, the coming of age story, the slide guitar work are all wonderful. But those friggin Chevy Silverado commercials from the 80s-90s kept flashing though my head during some of those slide riffs and Seger’s crescendo. Good song anyway.

- My wife and kids are now in a different school district. They went back to school on Wednesday, and although I’ve had professional developments the last couple of days myself, I am all on my own today. I could be a great stay at home dad. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m preparing for a meal of wings, loaded tots, and cold domesticated beverages.

People try entirely too hard to come up with new comparisons.

Keep any/all basketball comps out of your mouth. Yes, it is a shame that that it's gone wayyy overboard on GYERO with the Rothstein nonsense but I get it, at least.

- Shocked that Darrell Bird would jump on the chance to take pictures of UK student athletes shirtless (again).

- Quickley, man. Quick knee jerk but I'm not seeing enough separation from Hagans' defense/dog mentality to justify getting that time over IQ with the way the latter shoots and spreads the floor.

- Lights never went out at the Moon Palace. Didn't have to pay $9 for an O'Doul's at the Moon Palace. Wasn't nickel and dimed all over the place at the Moon Palace. Tix came with the travel package at the Moon Palace. Most importantly, sure as **** didn't see Toots Palumbo social climbing and jersey chasing all over Moon Palace.

Vertigo is a MFer. Been battling for about 2 years and hopefully we figured out it's in my vision. Talk about something that will totally disrupt your life, this ish has been a nightmare and is no joke. When it hits while driving, total system shutdown.

-He legit looked more athletic when he had the dreds. I think the haircut makes him look less athletic, furreal.

-Is '73 being called "a really good guy" on an ESPN broadcast the peak of GYERO's national existence? I mean, me being name-dropped in a Smackoff call has got to be up there, but JP now holds the crown. Congrats, man. That was awesome to watch.

-J. Palumbo is what you'd get if a Pinterest board and an issue of Tops In Lex magazine had a baby together.

-Ready for the NBA schedule to drop. Will be staying adjacent to the Bucks' new arena for a work trip in November, and would love to see Giannis in person. So far, the only game scheduled for that week is Marquette vs. UMBC.

-Kentucky goes 7-6....6-6 and wins the bowl game. Down. Written.

My 8 year old, who has become so self conscious about being a diabetic, has wanted to get into baseball but because of the medical stuff this past spring we couldn’t commit him to it like we wanted. He has quit soccer because of how nervous being a diabetic makes him, but........

We watched that whole baseball game yday and all he wants to do is hit the cage and have me throw to him to be ready for next season.

His exact words a few times were “so if we get into it, and we try hard, and we can get good enough then maybe in 4 years we could be on TV like that? Those kids live how far away again?”

That was really cool 73.

Steph Curry fired a 71 yesterday, finishing ahead of 42 players in the Web.Com event yesterday. Unreal.

^ was really cool, the production was like an MLB game. I caught Sam's last 2 at-bats. Some nice shots of your wife/kids in the stands as well.
And I'm pretty sure I read 73's lips as he mumbled a g-dammit when the camera was on him.

Really great experience that those kids will remember forever.

Proud of my kids. We didn't play well, but we had a blast on this trip. And we played on ESPN! Pretty amazing experience.

:baseball::100points:
Just curious, do you all play with the same rules(no leading off, substituting, etc..) and field dimensions(short base paths, closer pitchers mound) during the regular season?

That's cool... when I was 8 I remember Chris Drury and the Trumbull, CT Little League team winning the title (first time beating the Taiwan in several years). They were on the cover of SI - and of course Drury went on to becoming a great hockey player - but I remember thinking "man, I want to be like those dudes". I can only imagine how cool it would have been if it had been a team from near by that I got to watch on TV.

Teenage Wayne Dougan frequently (and at times half-drunkenly) served Steph and Del Curry cheeseburgers from the turnhouse / clubhouse pool at their country club 20 years ago. I am glad to have played a part in his golfing development.

I've seen all sorts of versions. More referring to the fact he just hit a dude, who then fell down, cracked his head, and died.

I'd guess most in here have thrown a few punches at some point. Pretty crazy way to have your life changed forever & potentially go to prison.

I mean, just imagine if when Killa punched me at Southland Lanes for changing his name to 'Buddy Pee' on the screen, if I'd fallen backwards & hit my head on a bowling ball and died. (He'd have gotten off b/c he's Lee, but just sayin)

Added a new toy for my bar. A seltzer siphon bottle. If you like high balls they're fantastic.

Plus, it's definitely old school. Quart of filtered water and a C02 capsule and you've got old school seltzer. It doesn't go flat either because it keeps it at pressure until most of the water is gone.
