Brief Eli randoms:

*In the 12 or so years I've been going down there, this was probably the best Friday and Saturday night combos I've seen. The wedding band on the dilapidated tennis courts was actually a great idea. Had people dancing and hammered pretty late into the night.

*I brought two buddies in that live on my street. One I've known for 25 years and one I met in October. Both guys brought their wives, and they all had a hell of a time. I'm not blaming my play this weekend on Friday or Saturday night, but I'm just saying...those two rounds were suboptimal from a health perspective. The dance off my buddies were having to Footloose had me a and Showkiller absolutely rolling.

*As is my personal tradition, I played like an absolute *******. 81 on Saturday. I started on 10, and piped a 3 wood straight down the middle. I head up there ready for a little 60-80 yard flip wedge to get the weekend started and found my ball sitting about 3 feet into the edge of the water o_O. I hit the ball decently long, but I'm not crazy long by any means, and in particular I only hit my 3 wood somewhere around 250 if I hit it good. I'm guessing I got a massive hope on the dry ground, because I'm fairly sure it was 270 or so to get it in the water. Great start when you pure one and hit it into a hazard. After that I pulled it together and was +3 over through 10 holes. Then, I went triple, single, triple and my round was done. However, I got extremely lucky and was leading my flight.

On Sunday I'm doing okay until I hit 6. Pumped one right OB, took a break while my playing partner pumped TWO OB, then pulled 2 iron to play it safe. Boom--->OB. Grabbed the driver again and hit a huge pull into the left hazard. Took a drop and then hit it in the water short of the green. Took my drop and ended up two-putting for a crowd-pleasing 11.
E-L-E-V-E-N GD strokes.

*Per usual, it's the best tournament around, and it's not even close.

It really is, and they went all out on the 50th Anniversary. Attendance was the biggest ever, especially the Shootout which had more people on a hole than Barbasol. Chips & Salsa aside, the new owners are doing a kickass job out there.

-Austin Knight will probably have a career playing golf, or at least give it a good run. College Golfers aren't anything new at the Eli, typically have 5-15 any given year, but this kid is on an entirely different level than anything we've seen come through there besides JB Holmes.

Murray St, OVC POY, and has won his last two D1 Golf Tournaments. There was a buzz that he'd shot 64 in each of his practice rounds...okay, fine - what do you have once the tournament starts? Turns out he had a 63 ready for Round 1, and we followed him for some of his back 9, never missed a shot. Ended up cruising and setting the tournament record in the process.

3rd place was even Par, which is typically the gold standard to win that tournament, and would have again this year if not for Murray St bringing their 2 ringers. This was despite the easiest conditions I've seen in 20 years there, as the greens were soft as butter & just everyday regular speed, which is never the case.

-79/83 for me, my worst showing in 5-6 years despite me playing 5 days a week now. Very disappointing. Just had absolutely nothing, was like I'd never played before. Hit 2 fairways and 3 greens on Sunday....wtf? #golf

-Highlight for me was taking $490 off my Uncle in Mario Kart Saturday night. Nice little consolation prize. We went until 5:30am Thursday night and 3:30am Saturday night...which may have had something to do with my performance?

Ready for a week or two off (from both :golf: & :cheers2:)

Re: Eli from the photos of the scores on the MCC FB page, it looks like the area should be safe from floods for a while with all of the sandbags around. Did I see 95/74 (!) from someone?

Nintendo Switch, bub. Thing is sweet...there must be 100 tracks. We're always playing on whatever the latest version is.

Still bust out the Wii tennis tho. :fire:

Nothing worse than golf guy, that tells you every shot he took his entire round. Not surprised Chase is that guy.

Nice little weekend in Chicago, only 72 people were shot this weekend, their massive amounts of gun control seems to really be doing the trick.

Feel free to skip over my posts, Rob. I know reading is an extremely burdensome task for you, and I don't want to wear down your tiny little brain.

I believe I hold the Eli Barron record both for behaving like the biggest jackass, AND for worst score of all-time, no? Has this held up after all these years?

0% on rotten tomatoes. Guess the snowflakes don’t care for his message, doesn’t mean he’s wrong.

0% critic.
90% non critic.

Civil War is coming.
Domestic Summary
Opening Weekend: $2,356,522
(#13 rank, 1,005 theaters, $2,345 average)
% of Total Gross: 100.0

$2,345 average take per theater. To put that in perspective, Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again, which apparently is a thing that has been out in theaters for 3 weeks averaged $2,680 this weekend- unable to sustain its opening weekend buzz I guess.

It’s not just snowflakes, his own fans have lost interest. From Forbes: “it’s well below his previous three flicks, 2016: Obama’s America ($33.4m in 2012), America ($14.44m in 2014) and Hillary’s America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party ($13m in 2016).”

Very accurate portrayal. Winnie the Pooh is a total ***** boi, as we all knew and expected, but it's always nice to get confirmation on such things.

What month would be best for a civil war to breakout? Give me April... weather warming up. UK basketball is over. Longer dats. Ideally chief and his dipshit friends will have all gone home by Derby tbh.
Derby is meh for me so lucky for you it can start earlier. Should be over by the time spring football practice gets rolling.
