I think most domestic violence victims are not worried about losing their spouse's income. They're worried about getting hurt again or their kids getting hurt or maybe getting murdered for trying to leave. I went to a funeral for a former co-worker recently who was shot to death by her husband because she was trying to leave him.

Big-time college athletics has always slid the ugliness under the rug. This Meyer business is nothing new. Notre Dame, Florida State, Baylor, Penn State, Nebraska, Michigan State, and Minnesota all put the athletic department ahead of the victims.

Meyer is a p.o.s. He should be fired with cause. Ohio State fan wants more proof. Meyer's wife knew about the 2015 incident, and she told the victim that Urban would be informed as well. There's no way he didn't know. And even if she chose to not tell him, that's pretty damning stuff, too. They fired Tressel for way less than this.

I think most domestic violence victims are not worried about losing their spouse's income. They're worried about getting hurt again or their kids getting hurt or maybe getting murdered for trying to leave.

This is actually from the Brett McMurphy article, Tracy is Brenda Tracy, who is the nation’s leading advocate in the battle against sexual and relationship violence in college football:

“In cases of domestic violence there are many things the victim has to think about,” Tracy said. “Often times there’s mental, emotional, physical and financial abuse going on. The victim may be completely dependent upon this person for housing, money and food. They may be dependent on this person to help them meet the basic needs of life for them and their children.

“Society thinks it’s simple: if he hits you, just leave. But it’s never that simple. There are many things to consider and the lack of understanding by our society about the dynamics of domestic violence makes everything even more difficult for the survivor.”
Courtney Smith had to consider being an unemployed single mother when all this was going on. When she reached out to Shelley Meyer in 2015, she clearly was tired of her loser husband's crap, and tried to use back-channels to get Zach Smith fired.

Now assume you're Urban Meyer. You may be getting bits and pieces of this info from your wife, and I think he even asked Smith about it based on the text message evidence. Smith claims, as reported in the article, that it's not true. And as I understand it, there's no public information about Zach doing this, so what does Urban do? The right thing is report him, but I can understand Urban being hesitant to do so because of the potential repercussions if Smith is telling the truth.

By the way - if you want to point to what's effed up here - and a lot more guilty than Urban Meyer - look at the courts. They sealed the divorce records so that it wouldn't harm Smith's career and earning potential.

We got it wayne, you're ok with covering up domestic violence. Our opinions were solidified yesterday. You'll be known for this forever, similar to the 2 times I wore a graphic t-shirt. bbdk wiped his *** with a golf towel, 73 blew up on a golf course or rob fell off a ladder. Just going to stick with you. I suggest not talking about domestic violence for at least 2 years.

Shorts:

- TGIF amirite???!?

- Annual FFB Draft this weekend in Georgetown of all places, which is just an excuse for my buddy dads to golf, get drunk and gamble, and for me to see them.

Once again, young’uns, enjoy your time with your buddies.

- Amazes me the number of people I still see out burning cigs while driving.

- It’s impossible to have a “cheap” night out with the wife. I can happily go High Life all night if need be, but she has to have wine/cocktails.

- We really get to see our dudes next week. Pumped.

- Wayne is always going to take the hyper-affluent white guy stance on every issue. Applaud his consistency if nothing else.

- Straight up hot fudge sundae (with the works) OR some sort of Blizzard concoction for dogdad.

- I’m predicting a mediocre season with some headscratching losses for UK football and the Bengals...every year through eternity.

- Just now getting initiated into the athletic shoe racket (I usually get mine for free - “coaching shoes.”). Lord have mercy! My 8 year old son now has a pair of Curry’s, KD’s, and Kyrie’s. That was fine because we got the “last season edition” models and he was still wearing kid sizes.

HOWEVA, apparently once the kid goes up to a size 3.5, they are no longer a kid. They are a YOUTH. Well guess what? A size 3.5 is at least $20 more than a size 3. Also guess what? My son is now a size 3.5.

He HAD to have Haurraches this time. This is a draw back from him being around “cool” teenage basketball players so often. He wants to wear what they do. Shoes are the only thing he has really ever wanted to spend money on. No video games (yet). No motorized vehicles or $400 aluminum bats. So we bit the bullet. Tricked him into believing we got the newest style but they were probably 2 editions ago and on sale. They look better than the newest ones so whatever. Should be ok until Christmas, or until some punk kid tells him they’re the old ones on Wednesday.

Grew up an hour from the nearest mall, that bi-monthly trip was [banana]. Hit up FootLocker/Finish Line/Champs/Spencer Gift/Arcade. Had the route pre-planned eiretime. Don't think I ever went into another store.

Gotta throw the music store(Camelot, Disc Jockey) in the rotation. Then food court before heading to a movie.

- Strokin, just bench any kid that rats you out re: the old shoes. You're no doubt already getting accused of rewarding or restricting playing time based on a hundred other factors.

- Is that right? Women's British Open being led by a 'Pornanong Phatlum'? Is that a copy/paste from somebody's search engine?

- For the golf balls, why have the Asians seemingly taken over women's pro golf... and is that expected to happen for the men as well?

Hell, my wife slept with Derrick Jasper because he showed up mistakenly at my ex-girlfriend from 10 years ago's party instead of the one on the other end of the complex.

So I’m trying to translate this...

Your (now) wife was at a party 10 years ago with her friend, who happened to be your girlfriend (or ex?). Jasper showed up at the wrong place and your (now) wife had sex with him.

OR

Your wife slept with Jasper and was at your w-girlfriend’s apartment recently? (This seems like more of a problem.)

Everybody with cargo shorts has a revolver in them.

Everybody wishes they had a wife who boned a UK starter.

Everybody wishes Urban Meyer coached here.

Everybody wishes it was partly cloudy and 70 degrees right now.
