The study everybody is citing is ridiculous; it studies brains of people with CTE / other neurological issues rather than including the population of football players who didn't have any problems.

Beating your wife is actually pretty nuanced, per WayneDougan. The person getting the **** kicked out of them may be enjoying the ride? Who knows. But, we can't make that call without understanding how much the victim depends on the abuser. It's 1953, btw.

I knew it was a matter of time before this post arrived. Lack of reading comprehension / thinking (perhaps caused by CTE) from my friend SAE. Perhaps I should retract my previous post.

If Urb is canned in Buckeye Land, who will they get? They have a playoff contending team ready to go.

Bob Stoops?

One of my kids had a sleepover with some friends last night. They have played Fortnite 110% of the time. Which is pretty much all they do when they are at their own houses.

Worst. Game. Ever. And that takes a lot for me to say growing up as a video game junkie. I've never seen anything like this.*

* And I once played a 30 season Career Mode in NCAA Football. And have probably played 10,000 games of FIFA and Madden over the years.

Oldest has a Fortnite addiction and is getting my youngest hooked on it.

73- you try the Disney Circle yet? My kids absolutely hate it, let’s you lock stuff down from your phone, set time limits, etc. They updated it with a specific setting for Fortnite.

My kids have never “played” Fortnite but somehow know every single “dance” off the game. Whatever the Orange Justice is literally can be used as blackmail against kids, if you have them doing it on video, when they get older!

Official acceptable player references:

Quade
Quickley
Hagans
Herro
Keldon
PJ
Travis
Montgomery (although I'll allow EJ)
Richards
Baker [eyeroll]

Btw, this Keldon Johnson cat seems even more 'intense' than MKG, if that's possible. Dude seems like a maniac on the court, from all accounts. :sunglasses::fire:

Also, every year we're loaded I have a player I routinely forget about when I'm daydreaming about the season. This year it's EJ Montgomery, for whatever reason. Good problem to have. Dude is the highest rated player on our roster, yet arguably has the least amount of fanfare leading into the season.

^ I actually agree, and almost posted that. We'll see how that plays out, those things have to happen organically.

Whether or not he's called PJ is entirely up to him. Pretty sure none of us enjoy calling him Peej, but he often doesn't leave us any choice.

I'm an old, but I'll always think of Kevin Johnson when I hear "KJ", so I'm gonna go with "Keldon".

Quickley, on the other hand, is gonna be "IQ".

Clarification:

I’ll refer to him as KJ when typing. In conversation, however, I’ll be calling him Keldon Johnson. His first and last name together have a nice cadence. Kinda like “Rob Lock.”

Speaking of Tony, wonder if he's decided which player's member he's going to completely engulf the entire season no matter what said player does?
I haven't decided which player to make you hate. Slow playing it this year. IQ is current favorite because he's obviously your boy and has lots of potential to make fans furious.

Beating your wife is a crime, Wayne, you blithering idiot. Your position on domestic violence isn't "old school." It's archaic and stupid, and exactly the type of thinking that keeps a woman from leaving the son of a *****, which you even described as "the ideal situation."

Christ.

Let me help you with this another way so you can understand the nuance of domestic violence.

As you know, my wife stays home with our children. If I were to ever assault her, even if she were to take the kids and leave the house immediately and divorce me soon after, if I were to lose my job she and the kids would be essentially hurt again through significant financial loss.

The old school comment is not about excusing domestic violence, it’s about understanding that if you hammer a person for that committing that crime, the victims will continue to suffer - so there is an added layer of complexity in terms of how the punishment should be handled. Sad you can’t comprehend that - but in this day and age, I guess everything has to be black and white.

Further, my line of thinking does not prevent a woman from leaving her husband. There’s no societal pressure that pushes a wife to stay with her husband after he does something like that. I’d argue the opposite is true. Hell, I remember in college a guy at UK hit his girlfriend (who was a friend of ours). There was no pressure, kids or potential financial loss that kept her with him. But yet she stayed.

Here are two (of a few) absolute truths I try to live by:

1. Never say the n-word.
2. Never hit a woman.

Cut and dry. No nuance or semantics needed.

* I understand the point poor Wayne is trying to convey, but there’s a way to avoid those situations altogether. The victim suffers no matter what. That’s the shame of it.

Apple finally hit $1 trillion market cap. Been flirting with it it for awhile.

- Hearing there could be some more stuff coming out on Urbs. Starting with abuse of players.

I really want to like that last Wayne post but I can't align myself with a wife beater.

Hey Wayne, what do you tell a woman with 2 black eyes?

Domestic violence is only acceptable when it's a gay couple.

Thought this was common knowledge.

Q: Why did cavemen drag their women by the hair?
A: By the feet they'd fill up with mud.
