So, in the the NFL, teams routinely DONT WANT additional first round picks, so as to avoid being on the hook for another guaranteed contract?

Okay.

You gonna accuse them of drafting unprepared teens and stashing them in NFL Europe for several years next?
Maybe. Signing bonus is a huge reason why they might not want an extra 1st round pick. That is guaranteed money. Hell you have teams trading out of the 1st all the time for financial reasons.

You are a contract guy so you should understand.

Been here a year - still haven't seen a scorpion ....don't want to

Coming back to visit TN/KY in late June - maybe early July ---- anyone want to drink some refined micro-brewed liquor with me and go hand gliding off "Blue Top"

new company has a strong presence in Louisville ..... seriously looking at relocating there in 5-6 years but know NOTHING about Louisville.......

looking for gut reactions from notable personas on here as an early Barometer etc

* chief really outdid himself last night. Turns out lots of NFL teams don't want draft picks, and view them as a burden, because they don't want to have to pay them. Got it.

* Cincinnati Redlegs update = 5-20.

* Nice little weekend planned....

- celebratory lunch at Commander's Palace, followed by Jazz Fest (Sturgill Simpson performing opposite Sting this evening)
- National WW2 Museum with Suter, and then hit up old frat bro's bachelor party
- paddleboarding on Bayou St John Sunday morning

* I don't recall seeing King Llama brag about it on here, but that big ole boy finished his first half marathon last weekend in Disney World. No shortcuts, no gimmicks, he just went out and changed his life and worked his *** off. Huge, huge props. Looking good these days. He'll be slaying 20s *** in no time.

* Colter Wall = Kat Mckannon. Straight :fire:.

What are the odds that Belichick refused to draft Lamar Jackson solely because the kid's agent is his mom? A billion infinities?

The Browns already had 5 picks in the 1st 2 rds. They didn’t need to trade for more picks. They need to make better picks. I’m shocked they passed on Chubb at 4, but I guess a lock down CB is pretty good, too. Tonight will make or break their draft. Hopefully, they screw it up like usual.

I’m glad the Bengals didn’t take Jackson. Their #1 need was interior OL and they got a good one. I think the LB from Bama would’ve been a better pick there, tho.

-Patriots faked interest in Jackson so one of their rivals would make the pick..

-I say we shall revisit the paddle board discussion where you called me an idiot because I told you that thing would never get used. Sitting right there in the same spot next to that bike.

-Saw North Mississippi AS back in like 2003 in Birmingham.

-Condolezza Rice ad Grant Hill are the people we picked to save College Basketball. Lolz. F*ck.

What a charmed life Condi Rice has led. Although she never played sports growing up, she was / is:
  • A member of Augusta National
  • On the college football playoff committee
  • Saving college basketball
Not a knock on Condi, but I'm pretty sure my wife is equally qualified to do the last two, and she has never watched a non-UK college basketball / college football game in her life.

-We used to use our paddle boards all the time but it’s been a while. Still a great option to have when friends/family visit.

-Why would we choose highly-educated people who never experienced the one and done process to fix it? I’d rather have guys like AD, Kevin Durant, Anthony Bennett, etc to tell me what they’d have preferred or could make players more likely to stay.

The f**ck Condi Rice know about that? Of course she’s going to think everyone should stay in school and harder penalties are the solution.

...but I guess a lock down CB is pretty good, too.

There have been maybe a handful of lock down DB's in the history of the NFL, and one of them was not drafted last night. In today's air attack schemes, you better bring the heat w/ your line, and have all-everything athletes at LB.....a DB at this pick was nothing short of stupid for an 0-16 team.

Adding Condoleezza Rice to any group or situation is the ultimate way to feign credibility, and also completely shameless. I don't care that she grew up a poor black lesbian, and defied all the odds to become a huge, glass ceiling shattering success in life -- her work, and the committee's, were ****.

She should come out as trans or gender-fluid or whatever ******** just so she can check every box imaginable. She'd be a one-way compliance tour de force.

Apparently, my Mom recently discovered my great(x5) grandmother was full blooded Cherokee. Pretty upsetting this information didn't come out when I was going to college. I'm sure I could've bullshitted my way to some type of minority scholarship. May have even weaseled my way into reservation casino money. Where my reparations at?
