Being married to an elementary school teacher, every time I hear someone say "They only work 9 months out of the year" I want to punch them in the face repeatedly. While the number of days they are required to work equals to 9 months they work many more that they don't get paid extra for. It is nothing for her to be at school by 7:00 AM, work until 6:00 PM or later, come home and eat, then start grading papers until 10:00 or 11:00 PM. so basically a 14-15 hour work day. It also is nothing for her to work 2-3 days out of her spring or fall break to try and get caught up on copies, laminating things, etc. Heck she only gets a 20 minute lunch break and this is if a parent doesn't want to meet with her during that time. Some days she doesn't get a chance to go to the bathroom all day until she gets home or school is out and the kids leave. So to hear the comments from Bevin and some legislators really makes my blood boil.
Sorry hear your wife was selected by the National Teacher Draft. My condolences.

After weeks of weighing investment options between restaurants, daycare, rental property etc I am finally pulling the trigger on a rental. Finalize on Monday and then get to work.

Nothing like the look I get when asking is cash ok. It’s amazing that no one really wants to accept cash anymore. The realtor was absolutely confused by my method of payment.

My best friends call me "Cash"

Think I cleaned the 915 out of extra hot/wet wings and Miller Lite tonight. Kept waiting for WCC/Joey/Maxx/Willy to walk in, but then I realized I don’t know what they actually look like because I am a loser who posts on a message board.

To that end, WCC, I liked your idea about the NKY GYERO Reds game. Let’s do that later this spring/summer.

We’ll begin the afternoon with a case of Beast from the 10th Street Speedway, true Newport style.

You’re flying on someone else’s dime and for business, I’m pretty sure the rest of us were talking about flying recreationally.

Most of the time...but flew to Vegas two weeks ago, to Austin/Dallas couple times, and to NC several times all for rec, granted not my dime.

ya'll still talkin about hot sauce?

Keep these in the fridge for chili cooking, tacos, to give homeade spaghetti sauce a little bite, couple drops on a ham sammich. Really tingles the tongue with excellent flavor.

Good man. Any individual with a proclivity for 915 wings has a refined, sophisticated palate and deserves respect.

I’m not discounting women’s sports and I think they should be able to have that option. But anyone that says a women’s sports loss “stings” is a liar unless they’re a UCONN fan (I’ll give them a pass). No one ever grew up living and dying on any women’s sport. Now that may change with the progression they’ve made but as of now...no.

Whoever tweeted that won’t think twice about it tomorrow.

WCC- I’m in for a GYERO feat. NKY Reds game (or FCC match, really).

Reds are gonna be good for character building this year. Saw a kid selling cotton candy almost die falling down the stairs, then I got a turtle from Gomez. That’s my #OpeningDay

Was watching the Pels/Cav game and flipped over to catch the end of regulation and OT for the UofL game. Not going to lie, was way too excited to see them miss the layups to end regulation and Im not proud of myself but #yearofthecowbell

This is shaping up to be a grand event. Add in Chumps (who I thought lived in Australia or something for some reason) as well as fatguy, who apparently is a Campbell County lurker and probably likely to put dudes under the table with rounds of Hot Damn shots while he instructs us on algorithms.

Not a fan of Mississippi State, but it's pretty enjoyable that they ended Louisville's season in football, men's basketball, and women's basketball. #StarkVegas

Totally agree but something has to be done when the state can't pay for the 40BIL owed to teachers. The benefits changes I'm seeing don't look that substantial. The way it was done stinks but that's government these days.

Sure, something has to be done to address the problem. Problem is, this bill didn't, and it most likely will make matters worse in the long run.

Maybe someone will present an actual solution next session, but no one is even willing to discuss expanded gaming or cannabis, so I'm not holding my breath.

Edit: Decent analysis from the Kentucky Center for Economic Policy on the pension bill. TLDR: It's worse and more expensive than doing nothing.

I wonder how long it will take for the older generations/the younger people from the sticks to be pushed aside so that a reasonable majority supporting industrial hemp, medical cannibus and expanded gaming can form a plurality.

I know it’s not likely soon, given our deplorable state of affairs, but within 20 years It HAS to happen, right?

Sportscenter just went from highlights of the women's final four games to highlights of the Cavaliers game. The contrast between the two made it look like the Cavs were playing on 8 foot goals.

Guys, it’s the Reds. You’re basically just playing this year so the rest of us have a full season. Your talking points are basically Joey Votto and a Toyota Tundra apparently.

- Apparently, Final Four weekend is like a big sleepover for these CBB writers. A basketball-con full of nerds who bump into a coach or player and then Snapchat about it and giggle and hi-5. Then brag about going to Bill Self's house to play ping pong and drink Miller Lites in the basement. Tools.

-Glad GYERO solved the pension problem in yesterday's discussion. Solid work. Wouldn't have expected anything less.

- In an attempt to be more inclusive, ESPN pushes women's sports down everyone's throats. So the UCONN women's team has been billed like they are Andre the Giant the last 2 years. The best team ever assembled in any sport in history has lost in the Final Four for two straight years. It would be like the '15 Wisconsin game relived TWICE!

- War half-million dollar starter homes!

Out for the Reds gathering.
In for crashing wcc's wedding. The random toaster oven is from me.

You and I have seen the same number of World Series titles and I’ve been to an actual World Series game...

-i wouldn't mind going to a game with my internet friends. I can drive up from north central ky.

- have a complimentary trip set up to go to Camden yard this summer...just gotta visit the Armstrong ceiling plant near-by. Prolly flying coach. I like baseball.

-flying to austin/San Antonio on Tuesday for spring break. Hoping to find my missing bicycle at the Alamo. No idea the f4 was there when we booked it in Jan....sums up the season nicely.
