I think people were correct when they said it was the best conference top to bottom. Were ANY of us a great team or a top 5 team? Nope. But when you play tough teams every night with no gimmies, you’re likely to have some success in the tourney.

Hope UMBC has no regrets in 30 years after leaving a few memories on the table.
Maybe in the last minute, the 5 players on the floor for UMBC could have begun replicating the shenanigans Monmouth's bench used to do a few years ago.
Pulled down #11's headband over his eyes so when the clock ticked down from 5 seconds, he could have been wondering aimlessly around the floor with his arms extended.
UMBC's coach could have grabbed the mascot's head and worn for the last 30 seconds of the game and through the handshake line.
Only live once.......
Would have looked good on One Shining Moment....

That's exactly it. Boomer and Gen X coaches are wired in this way as well. They can't say "I could play for this guy!" so they have to tout the style of play as the way the game should be played, when every college basketball out there knows the opposite is true.

And the irony is they actually couldn't play for Virginia, because most of them really aren't very smart either.
That UMBC game last night was the most fun I’ve had watching a non-UK game in a long time. The stakes, the way UMBC was playing f, the complete lack of composure from UVA. It was awesome. Much more fun than a buzzer beater imo

Maybe this is sanctimonious, but I think it's kind of disgusting to send a kid out on the court to play basketball after he fractured his GD elbow a day and a half ago. It's a freshly fractured elbow. There's no way that's okay. And I don't care that he wants to do it. Tell him you respect the stones but to get pumped because you care about him as a human being.
