Did Mexico or Canada get hit hard?

Nice catch Wildcat friend/ autocorrect gestapo.
You rock.
Sorry, I was so excited about this team deciding to finally dominate an opponent that I forgot to do my spelling due diligence. :)

Randle also played 38 minutes every game.

True. It's hard to compare because the sample size for Vanderbilt is so small. If he averages 10 or more from here on out, or even just 8 if he only plays 25 minutes a game, then there will be a case to be made. But right now, it's premature to say he's a better rebounder than Randle.

Getting to watch in person for the first time this season, few thoughts...

*Knox working off the ball has become a thing of beauty. He’s figured out that he’s not an iso player but if he gets a guy trailing him off of that baseline screen, there is really nothing other teams can do about it.

*Vanderbilt rebounds outside of his area as well as any player I’ve seen since AD. I’m not comparing him to AD as a total player, but just in terms of running from one side of the floor to another and getting his hands on a board.

*Everyone, even Hami, has started to find their role and be good with it. Body language was good, kids were talking to each other.

Better late than never!

No its not, 11 games, 15 mpg, 7.1 rpg coming into tonight. Sample size is big enough and he had to work himself into game shape in the process.

Had to drive through the Ohio River to get on I-64 at 2nd Street leaving work Friday and they were predicting the river would crest 5 feet higher on Monday before this 24 hour rain we have had today. Should be an interesting week ahead.

We have talent. With Vandy and Quade's eventual return, we'll go a solid 9 deep. I could be wrong but this team has more of a 2011/2014 feel as opposed to a 2013 feel. This team is elite 8 capable for sure. From there, who knows.

There will be more of what we witnessed last night. We have a stretch in early Feb where could lose 3 or 4 straight. Hell, that's the case for the entirety of the SEC slate. But I think it will harden us and provide us with the experience (close games vs good comp) needed heading into March.

I posted this after the South Carolina loss. Saw it coming a mile away.

I agree, it's not the best metric. But it shows he maintained a high rebounding rate over an entire season. He had stretches where he was close to 15/game for several games in a row. He also had a few duds.

Vanderbilt is very impressive and may make a solid case for being as good or better at rebounding than Randle was at the collegiate level.

I just think it's too early to tell.

Speaking of Randle, he is becoming a beast and LA was looking to move him at the deadline to free up money for this offseason.

Vern nice analysis, and I assume that will go for every team Cal has that isn’t ZOMG we going UNDEFEATED good. Just basic Cal figuring his guys out while they figure themselves out as well.

I really hope the FBI continues dropping 100K payments for players. They don’t give AF about Duke/UNC being the NCAA darlings and will crush them if they can. Unfortunately, and maybe for us it is fortunate, only Andy Miller was busted.

- Cake baking?

- Love the Vanderbilt needs to be Rodman thing. Perfect.

- I like Wenyen's spark of energy off the bench best.

- The regular season is a grind...but even in these less talented freshman class years, we have always played our best ball in March, even 2013 before the Noel injury. And that was a spectacularly bad freshman class.

- Finally a chance to get some drinks, probably my last chance to get hammered before Election Day on the 6th.

That shooting performance. :100points::100points::100points:

Vanderbilt is a BMF. His emergence changes the game for everyone. We actually (finally) have a legitimate interior defensive presence. As an added bonus, he's our best passer, best at initiating fast breaks, and he scores/gets fouled far more consistently on lobs than the other bigs. In fact, JV seems to be responsible for our guards actually looking to throw lobs again after those plays were basically nonexistent earlier this season.

Coach Cal acknowledging that OFFENSE will be the deciding factor in us doing anything is such a happy & shocking surprise.

Making shots was awesome, but you have to TAKE them to make them, which we did without hesitation all game. Love SGA/Green especially hunting some 3s for a change, and us running stuff for Knox from the Tip instead of just the first few poss of the 2H.

But yeah, Vanderbilt being our primary big is such a dramatic change on both ends...just a completely different look, and forces tempo, which for us is huge.

^ also read he's averaging 19 rebounds per 20 minutes. [laughing]

With him getting 25min+ going forward (if he can avoid foul trouble) and actually looking somewhat comfortable out there now, he should be a double-double waiting to happen most every game.

Man alive talk about a 180 in like a week, yesterday was like an 80 degree day in February, just came out of nowhere. Green looking like a different player not only on offense but defense has been great. Now granted that might be the best we shoot all year but the swagger and confidence our guys were showing was :fire::fire::fire:

Last night felt like a combination of a few things.

1.) I only recognized the one ref and don't know any of their names. That's a fantastic thing. We got some calls early, but we were also much more athletic and forcing them to grab quite a bit. Felt like a well-called game. Stayed out of the way for the most part and let them play.

2.) Crazy that we can shoot better when there is flow on the offensive side of the ball instead of SGA pounding it 25 foot out with a 4 and 5 setting up for screens and two guys on the wings. That's a stop-gap, not an offensive set and it feels like all we ran during the 4 game losing streak.

3.) Vanderbilt is settling in. His aggressiveness on the boards and D is starting to feed his confidence elsewhere. His baby hook swish last night was a sight for sore eyes considering I was expecting him to throw it off the back board at an awkward angle.

4.) We are taking more shots because they are open because we are moving. I think the only contested three I remember was Wenyen's and he still drilled it. Kassius for Mizz was taking fade away contested jumpers all night (and drilling them) while we were either too big or too open.

I love me some Quade Green and Vanderbilt. That said, Cal needs to insert them into the starting lineup before tournament time or plan to have them in within a minute or two. Diallo played tremendous defense last night but Nick just isn't bringing enough to the table to deserve the nod.

Wtf was up with Missouri pressing like they were the 96 Wildcats when our walkons came in?

Watched the 78 half time thing on Facebook live. Must have been awesome in person.
