Tucker with some good Wiseman bits, also told you fools that reclassifying isn't out. Also, also, Richie may want to skip this one as his boy could be responsible for landing one the most important recruit in Cal era. I'd argue the most if we get him for 2 years.

The consensus in recruiting circles has long been that the Wildcats are runaway favorites to land Wiseman. They’ve been recruiting him since he was a freshman, led by UK assistant Joel Justus, whose very name elicits an “Aw, Joel” from Wiseman’s mother, Donzaleigh Artis.

“James is a person who likes people to keep in touch with him, tell him the good, the bad, the ugly, all that. Calipari and Joel have been keeping up with James, so that’s very impressive to him,”

It also made quite an impression when Justus flew some 5,000 miles across the world to Argentina last summer to watch Wiseman compete in the FIBA Americas under-16 championship. Wiseman didn’t recall seeing any other coach who was recruiting him.

“It meant a lot, that he was dedicated, that he wanted me to come to his program,” Wiseman said. “For me to see him in the stands in Argentina, it was crazy — but it was great.”
Artis points out that Texas also sent a coach, “but Joel stayed the whole entire time.”

If Hardaway got a job like that, might Wiseman follow?

“Some of these guys might,” said one person close to East High program, which has a half-dozen or more Division I prospects on the roster, “but James is going to Kentucky. That’s what he tells everybody.”

There has been persistent speculation that he could reclassify
He won’t turn 17 until March 31, however, meaning if he did reclassify he’d have to play a minimum of two years in college (under the current rules) before he was eligible for the NBA draft. That would be music to Calipari and the Cats’ ears, but is it even a real possibility?

Wiseman has consistently shot down that idea, and he did so again in an interview with SEC Country on Monday. Sort of.

“No possibility,” he said, shaking his head and smiling, “but you never know.”

Huh? See, he admits that Kentucky has talked to him about moving up his timeline. The Cats have three elite guards but zero big men signed for the Class of 2018, and with several current players expected to return next season there is potential to build another superteam in Lexington. They just need a star in the paint like Wiseman.

That's a bit unfair so I'll add that I like the guy and think he's done a great job. Would hate to lose another good baseball coach to Starkville.

But, I'm also JUST SAYING.

That anth post is :grimace:

Wearing ear buds (I've upgraded to air pods :pimp:) while running errands is fantastic, just listening to good tunes in your own world, impossible not to be relaxed and in a better mood. Was also a must if you smoked and were running errands in college.

Have you seen what Chad listens to? Definitely possible to not be relaxed or in a good mood, which he rarely is btw.

I don't think Wiseman is in the 'class' a lot of people do, I guess. Anth talks about him like he's the next Cousins, Davis, Towns, etc from an impact standpoint...or on the level of any of the elite bigs in this Freshman class, even.

Could be wrong, but I just don't see it. Still want him, obvi.

[laughing] The best part is the answer is right there in his link.

If you convert a Traditional IRA—money on which you have already received an income tax deduction—to a Roth IRA, you will owe taxes on the entire amount you convert. If you contribute $5,500 to a Traditional IRA and then convert the money to a Roth IRA, you will owe taxes on the $5,500, plus on whatever money it earns between the time you contributed to the Traditional IRA and when you converted it to a Roth IRA. If you have saved $500,000 in a Traditional IRA, and convert the entire $500,000 to a Roth, you will owe taxes on the $500,000.

- Being happy or in a good mood is stupid.

- Love pseudo-spiritual inspirational ******** from MegaChurch Guy. Listened to Simmons’ podcast with Bieber and Kanye’s manager and that’s exactly who that dude is- humblebragging constantly. Sure enough- a Crossroads-going Facebook friend shares the podcast talking about how inspirational this dickhead is. [eyeroll]

- The NCAA better pay heed to the RPI this year and ignore the KenPom like they have for years. MFers.

- Where’s Richie with his dumbass idea to fire the guy who’s been recruiting the class of 2019 for two years?

- Freaking Tucker. Pure Sportswriter Guy but he’s a damn good reporter.

Justus is great when he gets his turn on the Pressers, as he did yesterday for Arkansas:

Consensus #1 player in the class. Still only 16. Game modeled after Towns.

Meh. No thanks. Wodie isn't sold he'll be one of the 4 best big men on the planet. [laughing] Which I never said he would.

But if you can get the #1 player in a class and guarantee he's there for 2 years? Especially a big? That's fairly significant.

Awful take, right in line with the rest of your takes the last 6 weeks.

Enjoy high school.

Tell that to a high school student. College isn't real life, especially for #1 recruits going to UK. I'd say get out of your parent's house, go get all the free poon, food, gear, perks, and worship you can stand for 2 years and then go be a multimillionaire.

Sounds a bit better than suiting up for your senior prom with Jaquish'da and trying your best to avoid getting her pregnant.

Normal high school kids need the old guard like us to remind than that their current situash is, in fact, pretty good.
I make a point to tell youngbloods this at every opportunity, no matter how awkward. Like when I’m “paying it backwards” as I drive by the confused drive thru cashier if they look young enough I’ll yell “it’s all down hill from here!” as I speed off into the night.

I have this motivational speaker named Matt Foley come into speak with my spoiled teenage children once a quarter.

HOT TAKE - I don't like the whole "kids reclassifying" deal. Be a kid. Enjoy high school. Don't rush things. The ****** real world will be there to embrace you soon enough.
To be fair, few of these guys are ever going to live in the "real world" unless they pull an Toine' Walker and blow through their money like Brewter's Millions.

Side note, I think these athletes from the 90's and early 00's that went broke have really made a positive impact educating the younger generation...seem to hear less and less of those stories.

Wonder if UK gets how much money they're leaving on the table by not selling some of that baseball gear?
They sell a TON of the baseball gear at the camps/fan day events. Maybe try being a fan of more than just coach cal and learn sports?

Would love to hit opening night at the Cliff but I'm being a psycho and dragging all my returning tee ballers out to the field tonight for some workouts. It's 80 freaking degrees

My eyes might be playing a trick on me but it looks like different UKs on those baseball jerseys. I see one regular K. I see a couple with the H(K) and another with a regular K that looks different from the closest regular K next to it.

- Just put it in Apple and profit PTI.
