Counting on Briscoe helping to cut down on ridiculous turnovers after a game where us stepping on the baseline at a critical stretch was a key play is a huge leap of faith.

Briscoe never had intention of returning, which seemed strange for a guy that everyone knew wasn't getting drafted. Good for him for making big bucks in Estonia, I guess. It probably cuts both ways in that he wasn't exactly being begged to return.
One thing we miss at the moment is the next Dom, that occasional player that slowly improves, contributes along the way, lives as the big man on campus for four years, etc. The down year would be fine if you thought a couple of these guys would stay and be that type of player.

I’m a firm believer that as long we’re operating under the current facade that is the NCAA these kids don’t owe us ****.
At this point, college athletics and the free tuition/room and board/clothing/training/marketing/coaching/etc, is a great deal for 95% of student athletes, and a total crock of **** bunch of exploitation for the other 5%, which includes most everyone who plays cbb for Kentucky.

I think the seasons before and after matter. Win the title, 13’ is acceptable. Next year needs to be a title contender to make up for this mess.

No, I think that’s accurate and the way most of us feel. However, the tournament hasn’t been played yet, and using such measurables, Cal has had a successful season 6/8, a really successful season 4/8 and a national title.
I am just a surly ahole not at the kids but at the potential prospect of a joyless March. Hope the crowd is as well. Need it.

I went to Richmond one night when I was in Grad school at UK (no idea why), and somehow a few people at the club thought I was Todd Tackett. No one in my little crew said it. Somebody in that place must have thought it and started that rumor through a bartender. I have no idea what he even looked like, but I was a 6'5 stud so I didn't say I wasn't him.
Long story short, it was a success so to speak. Got in and got out before the truth had to be revealed. Also, I didn't get Drew Barkered which, in hindsight, may have been the best achievement of that evening/early morning.
