In all seriousness, Cal has to change something. Either ramp it up and find a way to consistently beat K, (or at least split.) or you've got to pivot to another strategy. The one-and-done system absolutely will not work with guys ranked #9, or #12, or #16 as your marquee guys. It absolutely won't.
You've got to step it up and beat K, or you've gotta pivot. The best coaches have all done it. It wasn't long ago Coach K was getting punked in the first and second round. He stepped it up and adopted one and done, brought in Capel, and beat Cal at his own game. Pitino was close to getting run out of town in Louisville (pre-scandal) and he changed course, adopted the "junk up the game, they can't call every foul" style and had a late-career resurgence. The great ones all do it. This is our third straight season being a second or third tier team.

For touch sake, we had easily one of the best teams last year and lost to the NCAA champion with a buzzer beater, and could have easily won it all. There was nothing second or third tier about us. As a matter of fact save 2015 we've made it further or just as far as Duke for the last 8 years. Yes we got murdered in recruiting this year but people have spun this narrative that we've been awful for the last 5 years or something.
2015 title would've helped. Oh well.
