^ Our old friend PlayBall06 has been and still is all over this topic (Olympics Sham) for the HuffPost
It's really disturbing.

I defended two things about Rio, and every other Olympics....
- they are far safer than anyone believed they would be
- the facilities would be completed in time
Can't wait until South Korea, when those same two exact bullet points will be used for fear mongering purposes.

And he's dead on. It's a total house of cards. He's also all over a similar topic in the US -- public financing for professional stadiums. Just a complete debacle from beginning to end, financially speaking.
The Olympics are morally reprehensible.
I mean I still watch the hell outta them but still...

Publicly funded stadiums are just as bad, and moreso when they're for a college sports team.
Without the Olympics, we would never know which Asian is the world's best ping-pong player. That alone is worth constructing a $15 million stadium that will house an army of wolves a few months later.
How else are multi-billionaires going to get a place for their team to play in, you stupid idiot????????
He also spent an obnoxious amount of time talking about himself and how everything affected him. That's fine, I guess, but seems like there was a five-minute span each episode where every sentence started with the word "I." I have no desire to hear him go on about how he's forever changed and all of these people are now his besties forever, blah, blah, blah.

I didnt finish up and vanished because of that annoying little ****. Screw him. He should have outsourced that whole story to Sarah Koenig so she could do it the right way. Mail-chiiiiimp wouldnt even advertise with that loser.
My primary issue with Up and Vanished is that all I hear/see when he talks with the North Carolina investigator is this guy.
It's way worse if you're on the course after forgetting to silence your phone.
Oh ****, tornado coming...oh just a kidnapping. WE'RE GOOD.
Looks like he's a barber at Great Clips in that shirt
Wish I still had that pic of him and his lassie from Aldean/Bryan at Riverbend back in the day. She was slooted up, nice little tail from what I remember.
His son got slapped around the wrestling mat by a DeSales kid on the reg. Not really intimidating.
Always catches everyone by surprise when you have a bar full of people and everyone's phone goes off at the same time. Lots of the Silver Alerts down around these parts too.
Add to this picture any BJW and/or GYERO regular screaming for a similar type deal for a new Rupp.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO CATCH FISH
Hottest song of the summer is about fishing. Go home, 2017 - you're drunk lol

Yeah right, a loud bar full of drunk people vs Amber Alert tones - BIG DEAL.
Try sitting in a nice quiet conference room to simply discuss the trade-offs of corrosion inhibitor admixtures with mild-mannered professionals when that sumbitch goes off. Hint: IT'S WAY MORE JARRING IN THAT CONTEXT.
You know nothing of life.
I hate what passes for "journalism" these days. So Robert Mims, new U of L Foundation CFO, was arrested for theft over $10K from the Cardinal Club "after inquiring about a membership."
KSR, citing the sheriff, has a story but there aren't sufficient details from either of them.
The stories imply he heisted a membership, but how would / could he do that? If it he stole merchandise over $10K, how tf would / could he do that, and what would that include? 2 golf carts and 3 sets of clubs? Doubtful - How did he fit those in his car?
Everyone rushes to break a story but instead, how about stfu and get the facts first.
