Diallo now isn't even participating in 5v5, he might as well sign an agent at this point. I guess his "measurables" are so high he doesn't want to expose any flaws since he hasn't played organized ball in almost a year.

They probably have nothing to do with each other but my assumption is that Knox knew Diallo wasn't coming back.

Either way, we have one hell of a versatile squad next year.

Whole lot of crybabies coming after you on Twitter after this win.

My Facebook inbox is worse...pretty hilarious how pissed off people are at me for doing my job.

It was a very divisive election, the other side was very hateful...having some fun soaking up this W.

Honestly debating helping two council members pro bono in their runoff elections for the next month against these Tea Party loons.

Good for you Tommy. That's very impressive man. Respect. Don't talk back to those that just want to bring you down. Hateful individuals don't make anyone better. Proud of you man. One day, I feel you may be making a president.

I assume they are correlated and that we don't get Knox if Diallo was returning.

Next year will be an interesting team, especially after going with 3 guards for the last year. We will be bigger than most NBA squads and will basically have to have 3 small forwards on the court most of the time.

This is tangential, but I really wish we had a senior guard like Dominque around for next year who could come in and clean up when the "Holy ****! That Team Is Huge!" experiment doesn't work, like with Stauskus or Russ Smith.

Went to a BIG TIME YOUTH SOCCER tournament in Nashville this weekend. The parents, coaches and kids had a team dinner at some pizza joint to watch the Derby and I have to tell you, my heart swelled with pride at the children raising pure unholy hell and screaming at the TV during the race. Pretty sure it terrified every other person in the restaurant. #KENTUCKYPROUD.

Next year's team is definitely flawed. But those '03-'04 squads showed how a great interior passing team can really improve an offense. Vanderbilt and Washington know how to play.

Our real strength- assuming Bamba comes- will be at rim protection and rebounding. We should be able to bully some teams.

-Like I said, Cal wasn't striking out this year. He hasn't missed on all his guys before, why would it start now?

-Props to Mags who maintained the whole time that he thought we had a shot with Knox and everyone else assumed he was heading to Tobacco Rd.

-[poop] Way over-served Saturday. Paying the price today. :weary:

I was moving at a steady pace Saturday, not laying up by any means but staying in my lane rather well. Then the Knox news comes.....and then I drove off a cliff.

Day 2 of hangover and no end in sight apparently :flushed:

* Breaking news: Reds to go undefeated the remainder of the year. Will be first team to win 148 games in a season. You heard it here first.

* Tux rental looked fantastic. Even lead to late night fornication.

* wcc coming to visit on Thursday :cool2:

* Coming around on Bruno Mars. Don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly blasting his music as I cruise around in my Civic or anything, but it's great party music, the females love it, and the guy is a born entertainer. Great party/live band/wedding reception type music.

* Great documentary on Netflix:

Does a much better job of explaining what I was trying to months ago when I said coal mining was the biggest white trash job in our economy. Exploitive, deadly, unsafe, unhealthy, and mostly exists in extremely rural, poor, uneducated areas. Execs typically get rich while convincing the worker bees to ignore safety regulations at their own expense/peril. Basically, the last job in the country we should be working hard to save.

* Love to see the eyes of the sporting world fixated upon the Commonwealth on Saturday. What a great celebration, and loved seeing the pictures of friends partying with celebrities. Kid Rock, Rickie Fowler, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Bam/Ulis/Briscoe. Great stuff.

I'm not sure, Ursch. Think I may watch the tape tonight and come back with a full, detailed analysis tomorrow. Hopefully I receive ample feedback.

Anecdotal evidence for sure but a quick survey of friends and acquaintences on Saturday came back with a 100% response of "Glad we did Oaks, glad today isn't Sunday shew wee". FWIW

[laughing]

Nope. Not even close.

*Exploitative (or exploitive...whichever you prefer)? Find me another profession where people in a small town with nothing but a HS diploma can make $60K starting out, and can work themselves up to about $150K as a foreman in not much time. This ain't exactly indentured servitude. You work hard, you'll make a HELL of a living for your family.

*Deadly? 108.1 million man hours worked in 2016 in coal mines nationwide- 9 fatalities. Granted, that's 9 too many, but a far cry from the days when mine disasters would kill dozens of people at a time. And in 8 of those 9, the contributing cause of the fatality was the acts or behaviors of the victims themselves, not the external environment.

*Unsafe? Compared to slinging health insurance, sure. Compared to other factory or manual labor jobs, no.

*Unhealthy? No worse on your body than slowly grinding your joints to sand, 100 miles at a time.

*Exists in extremely rural, poor, uneducated areas? This is EXACTLY why it's important.

There are ****** coal operators who do things the wrong way, sure. But they are by far the minority these days, and in many cases have already gone under. To survive in this market, you have to be efficient, productive, and low-cost, and a ton of safety citations or lost workday injuries is not how you do it. At one point in history, safety and production did not go hand in hand, but that is not the case anymore.

So...how about I refrain from making uninformed statements about the current state of health insurance in America, because it's not what I do for a living, and you refrain from passing off the conclusions of some left-wing documentary you watched as though they accurately depict the mining industry in America today, and we're good. K?

I honestly did not know this.

If this is true, why in the hell is Appalachia so poor?

Why was Loretta Lynn so damn sad?

Tfields have a "friends of coal" license plate or nah? Are all those people in tahoes/range rovers really friends of coal or do they treat it like a vanity plate. Speaking of which I am a fan of these new UK plates.

Mrs Bellydancer used to *insist* that 1 glass of water and 2 Advil completely cured a hangover. Just knock that back right before bedtime, and you're fresh as a daisy the next day!!

Got back from our mountain getaway weekend last night. Holy cow. That area in the Blue Ridge Mountains is flat out gorgeous.

This place where we stayed was unreal. Right on Lake Burton. A 12 bedroom mountain mansion with a boathouse on the water. Just silly. The lassy's friend used to live in Atlanta and is friends with the owners' daughter. These folks own a mortgage operation and bank in Atlanta along with a bunch of Zaxby's. Alan Jackson's home was in the same cove and Nick Saban had a place as well that he sold a few yrs ago.

Ate well both nights. Beef tenderloin via the Big Green Egg on Saturday and a Mexican style dinner on Friday for Cinco de Mayo.

On Saturday we went white water rafting on the Chatooga River. The trip was from 9:45 to 4:00. Never been before so I had a blast. The major rapids at the end of the trip was a pure adrenaline rush. Walked underneath some waterfall and jumped off a rock and into the river. Just a surreal setting.

Made old fashioneds and mint juleps on Saturday for the Derby. I drew Classic Empire for a 200.00 winner take all purse. Thought he was going to win. Oh well.

Drank a ton of craft beer all weekend. Felt tired last night but not hungover really. The key for me on big weekends is staying far away from shots, limit the liquor and no wine mixed in with the beer. On Friday after some dude was overly persistent about taking a fireball shot I mastered the over the shoulder fake shot move to get him to shut up and leave me alone.

My tunes selection playing was supremely choice all weekend long. Hooked up my Spotify account to Sonos and kept great vibes flowing.

If I ever hit the lottery or if we all crush it with the GYERO Sports bar coming to the hole in downtown Lexington in 2019 I would love to own a nice lake home one day. Throwing away the keys and not really having a worry is so relaxing to me. The key is having one nearby where you can get to it in a reasonable amount of time. Nolin lake is only 90 minutes or so from Louisville.

Because the jobs are REALLY tough to come by these days...and you've got to work your *** off to move up. Not everyone sticks it out. But even guys who just make an entire career out of running equipment in the mine and never move into management can still make enough money to send their kids to college.

First tfields says coal mining is safe, then he says it's healthy for your lungs, now that lying bastard is saying eastern Kentuckians actually go to college??

:joy:

Woke up Saturday and let the morning showers roll on through. Hit up Keeneland around 1:30PM for the big ServePro/Safelite event. Those guys know how to throw a touching party. Spread of food a mile long, open bar with Four Roses and Woodford flowing. Was bourbon drunk by 5:00PM. Through a few bets on the derby and lost all of them.

Rolled back to the new pad around 7:00PM with a solid crew. Turned on the 90's jams and crushed some Jett's Pizza. Through back a few more collides and rolled downtown around 11:00PM. Shut the bar down at what I assume was around 2:30AM. Figured I spent $100 per usual, but checked my bank to see a surprisingly $10 bar tab [banana].

Back to the crib for post bar shenanigans. Current girl of interest is only 22. Lordy, these young guns are hard to keep up with. Finally made it to the bed around 5:30AM. Outside of the 3 day hangover and a pretty wrecked house, it was an incredible time. Welcome to May folks.

GTFO with water and Advil curing a GD hangover. When I drink 13 bourbons, I am just bent over and touched for 72 hours.

Oh and Knox [smoke]
