Per Facebook, "If this one is a boy, we're naming him Roman Jett." Note, Jett is not their last name.

I have a friend who was going to name his baby "Harley Quinn" if it was a girl. They'd both agreed to it, told family (who hated it.) It was a done deal. I've never rooted so hard for anything in my life. Alas, it was a boy. Can't have nothin'.

Bought a TV today and that stuff has gotten insane.

Same store, same brand, same size, same 4K, same smart features and there was a $600 price difference between two sets. Far as I can tell the only difference is thechealer one was "last year" model. Are there people who buy TVs year to year? If I'm lucky this is gonna be close to the last one I ever get.

That's a safe bet, Max. We'll all have VR Headsets for optimal sports watching soon enough. Communal TV watching of the same display will be for the poors. The compositing 3D camera tech will allow us to watch the game any perspective live - including from any players' (moving) point of view.

I picked up a little Google Cardboard number for work. For $12 it is fun as hell.

Congrats on selling out the mantlescape of your sacred family hearth in the meantime, you human monster.

Turns out we wound up NOT placing any TVs over fireplaces. In fact, the room with the fireplace has no TVs. I've been living a lie on the internets.

- Ha. Y'all are amateurs when it comes to hen shopping.

- Don't believe for a second the population will switch over to VR technology to watch tv for the same reason 3D sucked and failed... people like doing other things while watching tv (especially sports). Everyone is on Catpaw, Twitter, Tinder, Google machine, etc while watching the game and that ain't changing. Not gonna sit there with a headset like a weirdo.

- It's almost like most media doesn't realize elite players, coaches, universities, fans and the media themselves all have different priorities when it comes to college athletics. None of which is any less farcical or more rational than any other.

Ill be retired by then bub.

Just saw where my high school buddy(former all star blue jays pitcher) Stevie Delabar got popped for PEDs. Not something I would ever expect from him but trying to hang around in the league is tough. And why not try?
Small world. His B-in-L has been my kids baseball coach since he was 6. We've obviously become good friends with the family over the years although I haven't been around him much.

Had heard he got busted via his sister a few days ago.

Cool story - when deciding the team name they let the Blue Jays vote on it. Dirtbags won out.

I don't know his B in L but know his wife Jamie very well. Dated her best friend's sister for a while. His story is pretty fascinating.

Random fact, it's Stevie's arm on the cover of the book The Arm about baseball pitchers, surgeries, etc.

His sister's (Keesha) husband. His dad is cool as hell and not sure I'd mess with that old dude. In fact, I'd feel pretty comfortable if he were on my side in a scuffle.

You Reds fans enjoy being + .500 and pumping your chest as the best team in baseball again this year for a week or so? Hope so, you earned it!

Definitely look forward to it again next April for a few days, as always.
Jesus Christ no one was pumping their chests.

I love Bronson Arroyo. In his last start against the Cubs, he tossed a f'ing gem. 6 innings, 3 hits, 2 earned runs. 7 strikeouts and 0 walks on only 66 pitches.

6th inning, he's staring down the toughest 1-2-3 in baseball.

Kyle Schwarber = absolutely gasses him with an 87-mph fastball, then strikes him out on a frisbee in the dirt.
Kris Bryant = strikes him out on a frisbee in the dirt.
Anthony Rizzo = after earlier serving up a 2-run home, gets him to line out to Joey Votto.

I don't think he's a legit candidate to stay in the rotation and give us 32 starts this year, but when he's dealing, he is so much fun to watch. His fastball tops out in the high-80s, but can blow away even the best hitters. His changeups and sliders and curveballs come at you from all different arm angles and speeds.

He'll be the highlight on the 2017 season for me.

I never thought I'd miss Target

I am at the end of a 5 year chapter in the only town in the US where there's no decent Chinese food

I mean all four of the damn places BURN **** and have "ODDLY UNFORM SHAPED BITS OF MEAT" and / or DOUSE YOUR RICE IN A PUDDLE OF SAUCE...........

this place is just weird -- it's like having a sibling that you love

* Was rolling through downtown last month and got confused by all the new construction. Veered into the wrong land and ended up on the sunny side of the Kentuckiana. No biggie, I think. Jump off the first exit and back to Kentucky without catching any diseases.
Fast forward to yesterday, opening my mail and gd Big Brother...err...River Link has a clean high res photo of my ride crossing the bridge. $4 each way for that wrong turn. :chairshot:

* I see ya, @rudd1. Time to come out of hibernation.

* The worlds fastest paper boy hit for the cycle last night. Kid is going to be a perennial all-star in no time.

* About that time of year to downshift from the brown water and ramp up extry dirty martinis.

* Looking at how quickly properties are moving and at 10-20% above asking price in many cases, has me contemplating a sooner than expected move. Would love to get over by Bellarmine / Trevilian area. Settle in for the long haul instead of patch working this place is the way I'm leaning.

* ESPN firing 100 on-air folks today? Don't touch this up and leave Stephen A. gainfully employed when the dust settles, worldwide leader.

I like when they are quick to interact with people on social media when they believe they can drill their own point of view into the ground, but when someone with any merit comes back at them with a disputing and rational perspective- they ignore or it or disengage completely.

Its similar to a bully scenario. Once they get smacked in the mouth, its deflect, ignore, lay low, and regroup for the next minuscule argument.

What ESPN and the sports media in general don't understand is that most people who say "stick to sports" aren't saying that solely because they disagree with them. It's two-fold. One, most of those mooks don't know **** about politics and are just spouting off opinions no more valid than the dude sitting next to you at the bar. Second, people actually like politics, but that have other avenues for that. People who love football would be pissed at Fox News if they were interviewing Nick Saban about his third string long snapper during the election results. Stick to what you know (or don't know, but pretend to know)

Just illustrates how up their own *** the sports journalists are. Kyle Tucker

Was watching some old clips of The Office last night. The Llama mentions the show this morning, and Barry Slice posts a Stanley gif of National Pretzel Day. Need to go back and rewatch the show from the beginning.

Tough at work the last 5 days. Owner's son died unexpectedly. 28 years old. Liver failure. Shut the place down yesterday for the funeral.

Ed Werder laid off 1 day before the draft. He also had to put his dog down today, so he's having a day.

I still miss Bernie Mac. His TV show was good, but it didn't showcase how funny his stand up was. And he had the single greatest debut on Def Comedy Jam ever.

Diallo will stay in the draft, IMO. Taking him in the late 1st Round (and all its guaranteed money) is no dumber than taking a flyer on Krygias Dyckfyngericz anyway.

Karl Ravech, out. I was thinking they were firing the talented people, then I saw Ryen Russillo is gone and that theory went out the window
