* This Matt Bevin/Neil Ramsey house situation is pretty intriguing. Basicall, Ramsey gave Bevin a bunch of money for political stuff, then MAYBE sold him a mansion at a $1.5 million discount. But here's my question....

....is there really nobody with better legal/investigative skills to dig into this?

Property transfers are public record. TONS of information on a deed. And if it's acquired thru an LLC, isn't there quite a bit of paperwork filed with the state there, too?

Get to work, people. You can probably dig all this stuff up online.

* Nice little ride.

* When I stay at a hotel, particularly for business, I want my gd bill either slipped under the door overnight, or emailed to me. I want no part of this checking out at the front desk nonsense.

In my head Tpain sings it like Qua-DayyyeeeeAAAYYYY and it's pretty smooth sounding.

That's a pretty simplistic way of looking at it, and not really true other than yes, they are businesses looking to make a profit.

Insurance, if it's worth a damn, offers replacement cost on your items from a reputable company of your choice in most circumstances, assuming you have them insured properly.

Insurance companies want the job done right to avoid future claims/issues, which is the COMPLETE opposite of what the typical Home Warranty company is going to do. We ban cheap/shady/halfass contractors all the time from servicing our claims, home warranty companies seek them out.

There are horrible insurers too, sure -- but it's not the industry standard.

Sword and Scale is a must for a true-crimeball like yourself. It's not one long story but some of the multi part episodes are 3 or 4 hours.

^ I've listened to a few of those, a couple disturbing AF -- the one about desperate women taking unborn babies FROM other pregnant women -- as in, finding a very pregnant woman & kidnapping her, cutting her open with a knife, and taking the baby as their own.

Not good listening, imo. Recommend some specific ones.

* My father in law retired a few months ago and they just closed on a house here in Louisville, needless to say my wife is pumped - they are far enough away to not drop in but close enough to help with the kids.

* My wife once again is a running beast - finished in the top 10% of all women in the Boston Marathon

* Met Shai Alexander last week and became a huge an of his and Jordan Poole (going to Michigan) who both befriended my daughter, but Poole signed his jersey and gave it to her

Me and some friends got the wives into golf a couple of years ago. It's slow going, and they're all more concerned about snacks/outfits etc. but on a Friday evening, playing 9 with the couples is pretty fun. Usually hit a bar afterwards.

Bonus: It gives you a lot of options when it comes to gifts for birthday etc.

That Sullivan article seeking Terry Meiners thoughts on the Scnatter v Jurich feud is, as the kids say, Peak Louisville media.

Here's a hint, gumshoe - talk to these guys instead of the Beasman:

Guys. This is the school that totally ignored a coach banging a woman (who was not his wife) in a booth at a restaurant.

The school that re-hired a guy that bailed on them, after he was fired for putting his side piece on his staff at another school

The school that willingly sat out of the NCAA Tournament because they clearly used hookers to recruit, without a single person on staff taking any responsibility for it.

He's not going anywhere.

-Bus to Keeneland Saturday. My buddy thought it was a good idea to book a bus trip to Keeneland for his 3rd trimester pregnant wife's birthday. Still can't believe this is actually happening, but she's on board. Imagine that may change when we're 10 minutes down I-64 and she gets Miller Lite spilled on her with Waylon Jennings blasting.

-Think I'll sneak out on the patio tonight for some cold beers and tunes.

-Bears repeating that 1990's Toby Keith was just solid. I still enjoy. A shame the direction he took his talent. Pretty sure Beavis prefers/worships 2000's Toby.

-Jones has been wrong a few times regarding the timing of key UofL athletics officials and administrators stepping down. We'll see. Fingers crossed.

-Suspending my healthy 401K contributions for a bit to knock out some short term liabilities. Hope pti approves. Apparently a fully insured white man's daughter can't potentially be exposed to rabies and swallow a screw without incurring 4 figures of medical bills in 2017 America.

-Sex for procreation is still pretty good sex. At least for me, and that's really all that matters at the end of the day.

-$40 haircut at 2:30.

While this probably is the prudent thing to do in certain situations, I can't bring myself to scale back on my 401(k). Been maxing out for years, and will continue to do so. I probably won't be able to when I turn 50 (maximum contributions increase to $24k), but I'll do what I can.

Bottom line is that as soon as the money hits my checking account, the wife spends it, so I need to divert as much as I can. (Of course, she'll spend whatever's in my 401(k) at some point too, but I may as well kick that can down the road while I can.) Damned if I'm working an extra 5 years just because the 13 year old wants some lululemon workout gear considering she doesn't even work out.

- Buses to Keeneland are great. Just a straight up drunken sprint. Just give yourself until Tuesday evening to feel right again.

- The lass wants to hit a FC Cincinnati match because "everyone is going" and "it seems like so much fun." F'ing Millennials. I keep stalling. I don't think she'd understand how much GYERO cred I'd lose.

- There is a GD asian babe in my office built like a GD senorita! It's the little things for Engaged Guy. smh

- I'd love it if my future in-laws moved into town. I'd bet it eventually happens too, despite them not liking our climate here because women always get what they want at any age.

- Kendrick "DNA" -> :fire:

- Went back to Makers Mark for the first time in awhile. Still good. Always reminds me of the Good Ol' Days when it was all handles of Beam and Turkey for the crew, except for the special days when someone would bring out some Makers or Woodford.

- Saw Toby Keith for free last year up close. ROUGHneck crowd but yeah those 90s songs still pop.
