I'll bet Xzibit kicks himself for putting all of his eggs in the "Pimp My Ride" basket.

Funny Loungin came on the radio when I was out getting lunch. Great Jam. To say he is the worst rapper ever is terrible.

I've become convinced that mainstream music is like junk food. They're not trying to make anything of quality or substance, they're literally just trying to get you hooked on garbage.

I went to see the Drive by Truckers show on Saturday night. Some of my favorite songs of theirs...

Ramon Casiano = tells the story of a mexican teenager who was killed in 1931 by harlon carter, a crooked border patrol agent who would go on to serve as president of the nra, and yet never served jail time for his offense.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harlon_Carter

Carl Perkins Cadillac = about legendary record producer Sam Phillips. as record executive of Sun Records, he once offered a brand new Caddy to whomever (amongst Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash) could first hit gold.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Phillips

Big difference. This is "real," quality music. Musicians like this actually play, write, record, and perform thoughtful, intelligent music. Nothing against whatever's on the radio, because it serves its purpose as well. It's just worth giving credit where it's due.

Not sure if it's been brought up here but that Get Down show on NF is solid. About the transition from Disco to DJ's. They even hired Grandmaster Flash as a consultant to be more accurate even though the series isn't based on anyone specific.

Love how B Rax has to throw his success in everyone's face every damn day.

I heard of this new cologne you should try, stud- it's called "Humility." Give it a couple sprays.

Speaking of killing it, I was waiting in line for splash mountain last week with my kids and they watched the families go by in the fast pass lane and asked me why we were in the slow line. Really gave me a dose of humility right there. The world isn't all about message board fame is what I'm trying to say.

Then when we got to the end of the line we got stopped by a cast member so some more fast pass/killing it people could go in front of us right in our faces. Then the BRax Harris dad who got let in turned around and asked me, in front of my obviously disappointed kids, how long we had been waiting. Thankfully for him I didn't have enough time to get on westlaw to research "justifiable assault/homicide in Florida" on my phone before we were allowed on the ride to make memories because that's what it's all about.

*Pine needle is a beautiful addition to any landscape. It's benefits to the acid loving plants cannot be overstated.

*Wont put the picture on here bc its kind of disgusting, but Zach Werenski returning to the ice with basically an eyeball missing was so playoff hockey. Only came out of the game when it completely closed shut on him. What a maniac. NONE of you are that committed to your career.

Natural hardwood mulch and a light pine needle overlay ftw

I'm doing that this week. PUMPED. But I'm eventually just going full on thick pine needle bed bc ain't nobody got time for hardwood. You can just fling those bales around and not hurt your back and stuff. Plus you get these big *** pine cones in the bales, they're like hidden treasures, and sometimes there are clumps of sand. It's like a vacation almost playing with pine needles.

I'm 70% through, and absolutely fascinated by **** Town. (No Spoilers Please) What a way to luck into a bizarre story and situation, and an even better job of executing it -- the production level is off the charts, imo -- right there with the Original Serial.

I finished Missing Richard Simmons. Its an easy listen as each episode is only about 30 minutes and there is only 6
However he just tells a story and never talks to Richard. Which seems pointless when you really think about it. But its also is produced well.

Speaking of killing it, I dropped too much Scott's Weed and Feed in perfect lines through the front yard so it currently looks like I have 6 rows of yellow streaks.

Dandelions would have been a better look.

No spoilers or anything, but I had mentioned to my wife that she should listen to S-Town, as she has some extended family in Centreville and West Blocton, right around Woodstock. On the episode where the narrator is reading a copy of the Centreville Press paper at the library, he randomly mentions ordinary **** that isnt really news at all like "So and so had a birthday" and "So and so ate at the new restaurant and it was good."

Two of the names mentioned were her family. Her dad's cousins. She of course facebooked some of her own cousins (or 2nd cousins, I guess) and they are all friends with the Goodsons and some of the other names from that story. And those people look pretty much how you would expect them too. Pretty wild. I drive by that area every day, and honestly didnt know there was a half functioning town there.

Damn.

So were they and others aware of this bizarre story & situation prior to S-Town, or was it more like "Oh, yeah. We knew about that" as if it (and the characters involved) were not really anything out of the ordinary.

Wait what happened to Captain Suntan? Wasn't killing it?

Resigned a few weeks ago. Jones has speculated for awhile that when the UofL foundation audit is released it will show Suntan and his co host as well as others were paid salaries from foundation funds.

Maybe there is correlation between the two. Until then.....they can find no one to replace them and just have different hosts on daily.
