Refs *are* held accountable, dumbass. They're reviewed, critiqued, ranked, etc. But to my knowledge, the NCAA has not yet stepped over into tearing down their personal lives over missed calls. That could change, of course.

Refs are judged by the Old Boys Club as much as anything. Being a ref or umpire is any sport is pretty much all political. Always has been.
****, I can't believe the FBI/NCAA would even allow Higgins to ref this weekend. Maybe they'll send in a body double? They must not care about this man's life. Sad.

It pisses me off when the officiating sucks, and/or they consistently make bad calls, but anyone who spends this much time obsessing over their impact on the game is just a whiny, f-boi *****.

I think shitting on the man's business is actually significantly worse than the anonymous death threats. No one follows through on death threats. They just show up and kill you. Idle threats shouldn't scare him unless he's a gigantic ***** (which he probably is).

The good news is he will probably never ref another one of our games. The bad news is every ref out there probably hates us now.

If BJW could focus their energy on more fruitful pursuits, they could help turn Kentucky into a veritable utopia. Or at least pass Alabama for 48th place in all quality of life metrics.

This. What none of my BJW friends on Facebook cares to mention is that NONE of the egregious calls occurred after Kentucky had built a five-point lead with under six to go. The calls in that "JOHN HIGGINS SABOTAGE WATCH CAREFULLY" video that's floating around all have one thing in common...they all occurred in the first half.
It sucks that his calls made the first half such a trainwreck. It sucks harder that up five with 6 to go, our players went all slapnuts....which had nothing to do with officiating.
I blame it all on MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETCH.

And there's nothing you can do about officiating. Sometimes it goes your way and sometimes it doesn't. Are we willing to return baskets when a call goes in our favor, or only demand justice when it doesn't? Either way you suck it up and move on. Control what you can control. I can't believe this has to be said to a group of f'ing adults.

Never finished the second season. This version is completely different, but pretty interesting.
Those 2 offensive goal tend calls. . . one was egregiously bad. That cost us 2 points, 4 if you want to include the other call. That's a pretty big blown call in a regional final. It impacts the actual score of the game!

All else equal, I would assume that getting numerous death threats means you are more likely to be murdered than say someone who has never received a death threat, so I can understand his concern.

Per Pat Forde, the good UK fans should do something about the bad ones. Not entirely sure how one would go about doing that.
