Before he got here we were playing NIT games on a volleyball court. So kindly GGP.
^ That's the real story. Gabriel & SKJ coming collectively led to Lee transferring and, since they didn't develop enough to have one more trustworthy big, we were what we were. God bless Humphries for his game today, but we were just one big short.

Ultimately, we had to rely on Briscoe playing out of position every night and Willis playing way over his head because Gabriel was not what Cal thought he was -- an oversize 3 who could also be a stretch 4 -- and SKJ was not a WCS clone, or even playable.

Two Duke titles, 2 freaking CONNECTICUT titles at our expense, louisville matched us with a championship, and now one for north carolina. Still proud of the team. Guys were looking downright 4-seed ordinary, and then slowly it started coming together. They pieced bad wins together, then started turning them into good wins, then became a lot more than we thought they were. Gonna be a difficult season to process. There was a roller coaster of expectations from the run-and-gun version we saw in December to the hard-nosed defensive team we just finished watching. I'm proud of them. There are a lot of questions. What happened to SKJ? What happened to Gabriel? Or even what happened to Monk? But I'm proud of the ride they just went on. I just know it could've been more.
I feel like walking down the road and street fighting anyone I see.
I assume "13" is your age, because you clearly don't remember the end of Tubby or Billy Gillispe if you think the past few years have been "excruciating."
Losing with a chance to go to the final four sucks. Losing in the opening weekend sucks more.

3 consecutive future NBA All Stars at SG...going out with subpar games. That's disappointing.
I'm exhausted and spent. This was the first game lost since my little girl was born, was hoping she was my good luck charm - would've been a cool story to tell her. Oh well, **** sports, especially this one. Wish I was a fan of a less random and difficult sport, being a college basketball fan is way too stressful, wish I like football or golf or some **** like that. Will be avoiding ESPN for the next month.

- If I heard that stupid silverspoon ***** Grant Hill say one more time we should get the ball to Bam- who got stripped approximately 45x, I was driving to Memphis to backhand him.
- Willis didn't hit a big shot his entire career. Did a great job on Maye, too.
- Great postseason, Monk! It's great having guys like Booker, Murray and Monk who decide not to show up in March.
- The refs were horrible.
- Props to Hawkins, Briscoe and Humphries. Good efforts.
