Personally, I think some of the shine has worn off UCLA. They peaked at Rupp and just sort of plateaued after that. Could even say they're currently trending in the wrong direction. May not even be there by the end of next weekend.

Ain't skeered.

Until this week, they were playing better than anyone out West.

Until this week, they were playing better than anyone out West.

Opponents turn them over on 16.2 percent of possessions, easily placing UCLA in the bottom third of the nation in that category (309th). And you would think that a team that pushes the pace as much as UCLA would get to the foul stripe quite a bit, but instead only 10 teams in Division I have a worse free throw rate (26.9, 341st in the nation). What’s that mean? Few easy, efficient points from the free throw line. And while the Bruins don’t put their foes at the foul line that often, they also don’t play particularly good defense, ranking just 78th in overall defensive efficiency.

UCLA's offensive output has dipped as their eFG% regressed to "normal." It's still among the best in the nation, but it's now not far and away the best out of any year in the past 5.

"Some of the players were crying..." - Boeheim, talking about his teams reaction.

Only thing that really bothers me is that UNC essentially has no shot of losing before the Elite 8. We can get past UCLA but not sure about UNC.

A Stallings-less Vandy team is in position to do some real work in that spot. Michigan will beat UL. Kansas isn't getting to the Final 4. Arizona to the Championship game if Sean Miller doesn't Sean Miller.

So Arizona is the best for the odds to bet money on today? 12-1........bet placed.

Upsets? Vandy over Gonzaga. FGCU over FSU. Maybe Bucknell over WVU as the best stunner?

Certainly could see a lot of chalk.

Will be Hammering Marquette.

Only two lower seeds favored, Vandy -1 & Wichita, the one glaring mistake. That tells me the committee did a pretty solid job overall.

Shockers haven't beaten a single tourney team this season, btw. Zero. People are getting a little aggressive with the KenPom mentions and justifications.

UCLA is 18 on Kenpom, the same people crying about WSU being #8 (which is false, and stupid) fail to mention when it doesn't fit agenda.

I really thought Dunk City had a chance at an upset again this year, but they don't have a good matchup against FSU. They needed a Big 10 opponent or a PAC12/SEC also-ran. Wouldn't surprise me if they did it, but I'm not going to have the guts to pick it.

Depends upon how little you believe in Hamilton.

We haven't flown this under the radar since 2014 and 2011. I know the SEC sucks and all that but we don't get credit when we do great in it. Only losing 2 games and barreling through the tourney doesn't get 1/10th the respect it would for other conferences. It's still a power conference with talent all over the place. I love it personally, let's shut some people up.

We're the late game Friday. About a 9:40 tip.

This infuriates me. Same thing happened in 2015 as the overall #1 seed. And spare me the crap about being 18 year-old college kids, not playing the next day, blah blah blah. The higher seeded team should have whatever advantage there is.

Edited to add this is the 4th straight year we've had to play the late game in the evening session. In 3 of those years (2015, 2016, 2017), we were the highest seeded team in our pod.

Fairness is not the primary, secondary, or even an ancillary concern for the Committee. I'm not sure we'll ever get that through our thick skulls...me included.
