Wichita State is a crazy strong 10 seed and should be a rather substantial favorite against UD. That potential landmine is the only real "wtf" in the South bracket. The top half of the South is a joke. It's the easiest path for a 1 seed by far.

The play-in games are stupid and need to stop. Why does the East have two play-in games and the West none? Why are some of the play-in games for 16 seeds and some for higher seeds?

Wichita State's best non-conference win was probably Tulsa or Oklahoma. Lost to UL, Michigan State and Oklahoma State. The MVC wasn't good this year, so the Kenpom deal is confusing to me.
Why do we deserve a hobbled team that hasn't adjusted to their recent injury as a 3 seed? These same teams in our bracket have to play US too, I'm fairly certain.

I like this team a lot and they're playing well a the right time. In a vacuum they can beat anyone in that thing. However, beating UCLA in a track meet and turning around and playing UNC in another track meet after they steam roll some 12 seed is a huge ask of any team. If the seeds hold, I can't see us pulling that double just based upon the style of play and the emotional/physical toll the first game will take on our guys.
Why put teams potentially against each other that have already played once in the year if you don't have to?

- NKU, obvious not a worry but sucks I can't root for them.
- Dayton/WSU - meh, both good teams but neither scare me much more than any of the other 7s, 10s, or really 8s or 9s.
- UCLA, we owe them, and we are a much, much better defensive team at this point in time. I'll take our chances on the revenge game.
- UNC...you gotta beat somebody to get to the Final Four.
Notre Dame, Florida State, WVU, and Arizona are as strong 2-5 seeds as any other region, and Vandy is a strong 9. That's why I think the west is pretty strong. I don't know **** about Butler and we knew we'd be against UNC. I'm fine with this bracket much more than last year.

I am curious how they can justify putting Gonzaga as a 1 and Witchita State as a 10. Gonzaga beat a mediocre Florida team in a close game, an Arizona team that was substantially worse than they are now, a mediocre Iowa State team by 2, and a ****** Tennessee team.
If WSU is a 10, Gonzaga shouldn't be a 1. And if Gonzaga is a 1, WSU shouldn't be a 10.

Bring on UCLA, if you lose to Steve Alford three times in a row you don't deserve an Elite 8 or Final 4 anyway. Plus the potential shots of the Ball family sulking in the stands is absolutely worth it.

Not a damned soul is picking us to the Final Four. About a 50/50 split of UNC & UCLA. I do like that. We almost never get to fly under the radar.
Think I'm going to go over to UKBasketballLive.com this week and watch the 2011 Final Four run. Got that feeling.

Personally, I think some of the shine has worn off UCLA. They peaked at Rupp and just sort of plateaued after that. Could even say they're currently trending in the wrong direction. May not even be there by the end of next weekend.
