IU would be well served to go after Chris Collins if/when Brad Stevens turns them down.

Stevens, though, might be at the top of a UK list if Cal couldn't resist an NBA job after all.

Somewhere along the way children started raising parents instead of the other way around.

Parents need to take back the leverage. You want to drive and be added to this insurance policy? Ok. Get a job to help pay for the costs and show me your grades to make certain you get a good student discount.

My Uber driver has Uber accounts for his kids that they pay for while saving money for their cars. That guy's side hustle is *getting it*.

I mean **** it Thunder Dan is good enough for UK they need to be making a run for him.

And honestly if/when Cal retires/NBA's the first call isn't to Billy Donovan so he can turn us down again then UK can get pumped.

No sense in getting worked up about specific candidates. Let's do this: what % of confidence do you have in Barnhart/UK making the proverbial "home run hire" when Cal leaves?

I'm at 60-70%.

Red Auerbach with Jesus Christ as head assistant would be a solid combo.

May also need to add Jerry Tarkanian to the staff so when Jesus gets all high and mighty with recruiting we'll have someone that will do what's necessary.

Based on our history it will be a good coach that will last 10-15 years but not a home run.

There is no clear cut home run hire available right now where you know that coach will crush it. That is the truth. Plus, you'll be following a legend which makes it even more difficult.

Maybe our next coach will have to deal with a reality where the one-and-done rule is changed and/or more elite HS recruits head directly to the D-Le... er, Gatorade League (with talk of two-way contracts and potentially higher salaries) or directly to Europe like Brandon Jennings, etc.

Cal may be here longer than Mitch by a couple of years. In that scenario, that's a doozy decision for a new AD.

I'll never forget that weekend in March of 2009 the day after we canned Hobo. I was in Lexington visiting the lass and out to dinner at Merrick & watching the Sweet 16 games. 2 things:

* Pitino telling everyone that we should hire Travis Ford or Pelphrey with a straight face. Touch you, Rick. He sabotaged the the opening in 07 and was doing his best to do it again in 09 bc he's all about control.

* Pearman calling me hyperventilating about Lorenzo Romar. Not that I blame him.

UL ending up crushing Zona that night looking unbeatable and T Will did the river dance on the sideline.

Two days later they lose to Mich St and that evening word broke that Todd & Barnhart were meeting with Cal in Chicago.

Cal gets hired a few days later and the next weekend the Sypher story broke. Heady times.

Davenport probably should have made a jump to a Mid Major D1 school a few yrs ago but he's such a Louisville blowhard he wouldn't know what to do living in another city.

He was getting some looks for the Ball State job a few years ago, but he's too much of a LOUISVILLE MAN to leave the friendly confines of Jefferson Co.

I love a lot of things about my alma mater, but that athletic department's camaraderie with UofL is definitely my least favorite. Scotty still worships at the altar of Rick and most people there are pretty content with being their cute little sibling across town. The suckfest every year in our exhibition game with them is nauseating. Our former Prez (RIP) didn't have much respect for the place and all their ********, but that attitude didn't really carry over to AD's office.

More Xavier/UC type animosity please and thanks.

MAGS went in on UL and UNC scandals last night on Finebaum. No real need to do it but it was much appreciated how many times he owned both schools when talking Ole Miss.:100points:
