Louisville has gotten fat off the dregs of the ACC. They are 1-5 against the other four best teams in that league (UNC, Duke, Virginia, Notre Dame, and Florida State). Their only win was Duke at the Yum Center during Duke's ****** stretch of the season. On the flip side, they have absolutely no bad losses.

#2, 7 & 10 go down last night.

#6 Oregon needed a buzzer beater to win.

Looking at the schedule this weekend, plenty of more potential losses for teams in front of us...

#10Duke @Miami
#9Baylor@ Iowa State
#3Kansas @Texas
#5UCLA @ #4Arizona
Syracuse @ #7Louisville

Eh. We still have to beat a team Saturday that stomped a 22 point mud hole in our *** three weeks ago. Unless that happens, those other games don't mean **** for us.

Yep.

But if we come out and win by double digits the narrative from Tuesday to Saturday will have changed dramatically.

College Basketball friends.

Crazy POV but starting to think defense is just absolute **** across the game these days.

Rex had a good point on the PREGAME SHOW Saturday, the new officiating (freedom of motion) has neutered defenses because everyone wanted a more aesthetically pleasing product. So, this is pretty much the cost. ****** defense.

I'm not a college basketball, but I nodded my head for a moment before turning it back to 107.7.

Three road games against ranked teams= 0-3 by an average loss of 12 points per game.

#1 Seed.

Prob be best for Louisville to get shipped out West and have Deener get close with the players and coaches again before a run.

Pitino actually did a post game presser after his spat with the UNC *****. That growth?

This year 44 teams average 80+ ppg. 4 years ago when Louisville won the national championship 2 teams averaged 80+ ppg. Something had to give. I think it's a fair trade-off.

Is it just me or has this season had a ridiculous number of frantic comeback wins like the one Oregon had at California last night? Like...down double figures with less than 5 minutes left and all of a sudden the other team can't even inbound the ball, and it feels like that's happened a lot.

Even tough as nails Villanova lost one that way. I think they had Marquette down 17 with 10 minutes left.

I have become apathetic to this basketball team and I absolutely hate it. I'm not sure if it is a product of growing up and having actual real life responsibilities or what but just like BBDK I could see myself missing or checking in on a regular season game at this point. Old BJW me would of punched me in the face for even thinking about it. Some of it has to do the model 1&done (NO CRYING ON THE YACHT! LOL).

I have traveled around the country to watch Cal's teams over the past few years (mostly with my dad) and I know I/we are spoiled because it has been an absolute awesome experience Ill remember the rest of my life. Maybe I need the national media to start knocking us again that made me surly but I just feel MEH. I am having a midlife wildcat crisis. Please help. Signed, gattongrad09 in lex.

Part of it is probably my inevitable aging and not having VIP access like most GYEROS, but honestly between spending the first half of every season getting to "know" the players and then the **** bucket that is the SEC regular season, I don't get as upset as I used to if I have something else going on during a UK regular season game. Sad!

The SEC season is a real pile of ****, thats for sure. Every game other than Florida is a no win situation for us. We either get upset by garbage or we beat a team we were supposed to beat. Other than Florida there are no games that feel like it's a big game on the national stage (and even Florida is debatable).

F this trash conference. I want out.

I miss games here and there and it doesn't bother me a bit. With kids and whatnot, I can't schedule my life around UK games anymore. And I'd rather watch my young'uns play BIG TIME YOUTH SOCCER or BASKETBALL than the Cayuts. I'm still 24000allin in March and April, but an early February game at Auburn? Not gonna beat myself up for only catching a couple of minutes of that one.

***RAMPANT SPECULATION POST***

In fairness to the 1 and Done, a lot of it is dependent upon the kid and group as to how connected we feel to them IMO. I certainly don't feel a real connection with these guys (Bam, Monk, and Fox), but surely have before with others. I know they play hard and give effort, but just not sure it's for a deep desire to represent Kentucky or the program like I've felt before (correct or not).

I'll get blasted for this, but I always think the Fall semester GPA is a decent indicator as to what kind of group we have. If they're not willing to put in work in the classroom out of pride for themselves or to represent the program positively, perhaps it's a bunch that is truly just passing through. From Fall 2016:

UK released the grade-point averages Thursday. Counting walk-ons and scholarship players, John Calipari’s team had an 2.547 GPA. The scholarship players had a GPA of 2.418.

Calipari regularly touts his teams’ performances in the classroom. The media guide for the 2016-17 season says that Calipari’s teams had a GPA of 3.0 or better in seven of the 11 most recent semesters.

Who's a legitimately worthy person to coach Kentucky basketball in 2017? I've elevated the position to a level that is incapable of being reached by anybody right now. That's my problem and exclusively my fault because I'm a crazy person who expects better than what I've gotten.

I mean...if 2017 GYERO existed in say, 1995, would we all be this way?

Greg Marshall. Maybe over the course of 8 years we'll go to one Final Four, a few Sweet 16's, and an Elite 8. No national title though. Or maybe we'll fall back into mediocrity and he's a total pain in the *** to deal with off the court.

If you coach here at least 8 years and can handle your booze, it's proven you will win a natty at Kentucky.

Dan Majerle is a guy I watch closely. He has everything it takes to be a great coach as far as I can see. He isn't at this level today being that he is only at Grand Canyon University but I think he will become a very good to great NCAA basketball coach.

Clearly not an up and coming name, yet, but once Cal is gone I'd expect that name to have come along way.

I call it Game Shark syndrome.

The 1&done is NCAA basketball on cheat mode (necessary evil though). Great players that make the only thing that matters is March.

Same deal as tweaking a video game to give you 40 lives or a higher jump. It makes the rest of the game suck and it only catches your interest when you get to the end boss.
