I think they were moving that thing so some kind of movie theater/entertainment complex could be built. My question is - who gives a **** about preserving a bank built in the 1950s? Did Dwight Eisenhower take a dump in there or something?
I won't even link the article it was so stupid, but yea, this is some sort of scheme. The nonprofit that headed up this ordeal failed at moving this
historic mid century building featuring a zig-zag roof and turquoise brick, so some members involved in all this failed plan started a brand new non-profit "The People's Corporation" and they're going to try again. YAY!!! Mayor Gray was very kind and supportive about the ordeal.
If I hear one more gd thing about non-profits or start-ups or foundations...
